He speaks well. But it'll be up to the new head coach to pick who should. But he's definitely up there. After a bit of a slump at the start of the season he's back to being the best player we have. And his work rate is incredible as well again. So yes, I hope he gets it, even if it's just for the rest of this season seeing his contract is slowly running out.

Hammill hasn't been in the starting 11 consistently enough. Yids however is definitely always in it if fit. Especially in his current form.

I’d be amazed if he’s still here for next season no matter what league we’re in . By far our best player and a credit to the club , he’ll give his best for the rest of this campaign but I think you’ll see him in a white shirt next season !

Yids won’t be here next season. No point giving him the captaincy imo. If he was going to stay he would have signed by now. He’ll be at Leeds next year. Cx

I think there is every point in making him captain , its here & now that matters, not next year , if we want to stay up we need the best man for the job & Yids fits the bill , plus you never know , if things did go well under his stewardship there might be a small chance he would decide to stay but as I said , its between now & the end of the season what matters , so give it him

I'd rather captaincy was given to someone who wants to be here, not someone who would have been gone by now if he wasn't injured and will be gone in a few months.

Why have people decided he will go to Leeds? On a free he’s got potential to aim way higher than that. They’re a mid table championship club that doesn’t even give as over inflated wages as Wednesday ffs. He will go premier league I’m sure someone will take a punt.

I’d prefer Lindsay. He’s our Mr Steady, and will be here until his £10 million transfer exit.

I can hear the cries of “NO WAY, HE’S NOT EVEN OUR BEST PLAYER” from the Hemsworth area already. Just when he thought his week had been brilliant :)

He's off in the summer. Will go to the likes of Derby, or one of the relegated clubs.
Nice kid, but not experienced enough. Mills needs to be captain. See if he can turn the team around on the field.
If so new contract. If L1, then total rethink.

Get that about Mills but he will be playing for a contract what ever , however , I know its unlikely , but if Yids enjoys the captaincy he might reconsider his contract situation
