This is my last word on this subject.

I find it difficult to see what anyone could possibly object to in that statement. I also find it disappointing to see the irrational and over emotional reaction of fellow supporters over Hecky's departure. I thought we were bigger than that. I think what he says about James Cryne's words to him is something we should bear in mind. I am certain in my mind that Patrick Cryne would have wished him well. And I do.

Tbf I don't think its a well considered piece of writing under the circumstances, and mainly its too late, it should have happened days ago for him to even try to save the respect of the fans.

As far as I'm concerned it was time to move on for all concerned. I'm not emotional about it at all.

Couldn't agree more. I would have respected him if he had released something within the first 48 hours after he left.
This statement is just a knee jerk reaction to attempt to dilute the justified criticism he has received by leaving the Club
he professed to love in the way he did. Hourihane and Scowen showed how it should be done and acted with good grace and
a degree of humility. To my mind, releasing a very poorly presented message via an employee of a radio station is not the way to go about things. He could have released something to the Chronicle, that way, a lot more fans might have seen his thoughts. Yet another example of a total lack of class and a failure understand how the supporters of BFC are truly feeling. His statement clarifies why he delayed in signing his first contract. Looks like following the Johnstones Paint win and promotion, he harboured hopes that someone might come in and offer him something elsewhere and not as he put it at
the time " my contract is not important, that can wait, we need to get players contracts sorted first etc etc".
I was one of his biggest supporters , but as far as I'm concerned he's made his own bed now. I for one will not be commenting on him again. We've got more important things to be concerned about going forward than Paul Heckingbottom. COYR.

And as far as that goes Terry, I thought your post 'The post I didn't want to have to write' earlier in the week was spot on.

That really is my last word.

Perfectly timed for match day to get folks talking about him again.

It’s quite clear there been an irretrievable breakdown in relations, likely as not predating the takeover.

I don’t s was how any Barnsley fan can wish him well based on where he’s gone, how it happened and how he’s seemingly given up post not getting the Sunderland job

Why would you assume we would be bigger than an emotional and irrational reaction? Total rubbish.

Written like a 7 year olds homework he only just realised was due today. Took him a week to **** it out and it’s out on a matchday so everyone talks about him again. Petulantly put out by local media showing total disrespect for the club that made him (whatever he says). Goes on to absolve himself of absolutely anything and instead of talking about good times for the club makes the statement about him and how fantastic he is in the ascendancy. Seriously, you give an infinite amount more of a **** about how Barnsley fans think of him than he does. It’s getting odd.

Quite half arsed to say the least. Oh well, he’s gone now and we can look forward to today. I do hope the Rollerblades give him an absolute hiding in his first match too. #COYR

To be fair, Hecky said at the time he signed on here as the head coach that it took him a while to sign because he knew that one day he would have to leave. Not necessarily for a bigger job, but maybe sacked. Those were his words way back when. He wasn't being arrogant, its a fact. He was either going to be sacked and be forced to leave if things went wrong, or be offered life-changing money elsewhere.

I’ve heard enough from him now. He is acting like a bellend since he left. There are ways to do things and he is choosing the opposite approach on every occasion. Anyway we move on.

Seems every gaffer we get that has a decent start, whether they are Tarn lads or outsiders, gets a sense of self-importance and arrogance once they become accepted into the role. Hill, Flicker, "Eckie".

I'd quite like Harsley to go on a run and get appointed. But I'm already dreading his second season
