    I don’t know anymore tbf.

I think I would have expected more than the boss of St Mirren, Lincoln, England Youth, and a plethora of Assistant Managers who have been sacked from bottom of the table premier league clubs though.

Its what the plan is, sign young, hungry, up and coming people, with potential to improve and become valuable assets then sell them on . This strategy as been in place nearly 3 years now, I can’t believe people are still surprised by it.

I reckon we could do a lot worse than Graham Potter. No evidence we're interested though, plus they've got a massive European match coming up. No guarantee he'd even be interested.

Thing is, if you go for a bloke with experience hes bound to have a few blots on his copy book because managers get sacked at the drop of a hat these days. If you go for a blemish free one, they've probably had one half decent season in the lower leagues and have **** all experience of digging a club out of the relegation mire.

I've no idea who is available, or who we are looking at, but I'd prefer someone who can dig us out of the mire, to someone with 'potential'.

Let's be fair.... any single name offered up will have an easy criticism by anyone who wants to place it.

Doesn't know the country, failed at x, too old, no experience, nostalgia appointment, x fans said..., style of play not good, not won anything for years, doesn't understand a spreadsheet...

The vaguaries of appointing a football manager. Lets just get behind whoever they appoint and hope we can start to play good football again.

Why can't somebody with potential dig us out of the mire?

Dregs are all we can expect in our position with 2/3's of the season gone...

We were never likely too get anyone proven. Very few experienced managers are going to want to work with almost no input into who we sign & have a load of kids & foreign players given to them to work with

Hecky said himself he picks the signings otherwise he wouldn't play them. He also said when joining Leeds one of the factors was they have a recruitment team where here he would spend time watching targets ect. So to say no input isn't true.

Very minimal input is perhaps fairer. We give our managers the choices from the spreadsheet whether that is 11 number 10s when we don’t even play with one or not if they refuse they can always play themselves.

That’s what I mean with ‘almost no input’. He’s not picking the signings. He’s picking what he considers to be the best from the options given to him

That’s not what Hecky says though is it .
He may have been given transfer options based on price but that’s normal intit ?
Otherwise we would have been after Kane etc. Obviously we have pushed the boat out for certain players of Heckys targets but in the main have stayed within the price bracket .
Just don’t get this people saying Hecky didn’t pick the transfers when he quite clearly says he did .

That is NOT what it said. He made the final decision on signings from a list of options.

He said it was no good them just picking them as he wouldn’t play them
The options will have been the price list

As I read it when he is given the list he the highlights players and scouts them either goes to games or watches them play on video and then makes a decision yes or no. It's not a case of I like that name Potts we will have him. Out of the January window only one was highlighted from the spreadsheet kransmuller.

I've never been sure how the "recruitment" part of our club works and there's a lot of ambiguity about who chooses players, how and how they are finalised and "got over the line".

I'm sure our former boss must have had some aspect of input, but it doesn't really make sense that a manager who repeatedly said a midfielder should do everything and not just be a "no10" to go out and acquire Mallan, Mowatt, Moncur, McGeehan and now Knasmullner. Not only that, but then loan 3 of them out at various stages along with Jared Bird.

I don't know who came up with whatever brainchild process that was.... but its not working or being allowed to work.

Well neither do I tbh but that’s what Hecky says .
As far as saying s midfielder must do everything well maybe that’s a coaching logic .
Connor wasn’t all that when he first came
