£3 million for Conor less wages. Probably nigh on £1.5 million on the others in transfer fees plus wages. Plus losing championship status at - £6 million
Connor isn’t and wasn’t a number 10. By my reckoning we spruiked 3 million quid plus wages on number 10s we had no intention of playing ( well not in their preferrred position).
Seeing as wages are confidential and transfer fees were all undisclosed, nobody can know for sure. I think suggesting that's a gamble is as you put it yourself, creating something to fit the story you want to portray. None of us know for sure, but if i said to you now, the club have an option to bring in 7 left backs, i think most people would consider that a poor decision given that our budget is so limited and having an overbloated squad of players in certain positions who cant possibly play is highly uncompetitive,
Lot of probablies in that statement . Wages is wages . Connor earned his imo and who’s to say the others won’t . And as I said we’ll get something back on them if they don’t make it . It’s in the spreadsheet remember
This is where the arrogance of the tarnsfer approach comes in - we can easily repeat what we did with Conor/Sam etc
who will give us a penny for any of those you name? Mowett and moncur are likely free transfers for a start
I lmow non of us know for sure but some of the replies suggest otherwise . It’s interesting you don’t have eyes for those
suspect that figure isnt't far off. As ever, we don't know exact transfer fees, but Mowatt was rumoured to be approaching £450k, McGeehan £850k, Mallan.... who knows, Moncur, £500k probably, Knasmullner, who knows. Plus signing on fees and agents fees. And sadly, not one of them has been given any significant run of games in their natural position.
I’d agree to an extent. The transfer approach is fine but needing adjustment as soon as we got promoted. I also think given his inexperience Heckingbottom needed a more experienced head to assist him with analysing the results that the spreadsheet was churning out. I think someone with experience would have blocked at least 3 of the collection of dilettante number 10s we have collected. Our plan is a L1 plan it needs to be adjusted for the Championship but I’m sure the new owners know this.
i created nothing I quoted the head coaches stance on suggestions he had no input . All the rest has been alternative suggestions to posters stating the opposite as fact . And unrelated debate I’ll leave you to your views / facts or whatever you want to potray them as
Paul heckingbottom has the final say and over saw all these no10s been signed. He must take responsibility if he never had no intention to use them as number 10s he has played moncur mowatt and Potts on the wing in the past. as far as I'm aware pannilos was not a spreadsheet signing said so by a in the know poster on here.
I agree with what you are saying here. Could of done with some help signing so many players of the same position is baffling. And download the update.
I'm not sure what I've portrayed as fact, particular as I've said numerous times i'd love to know how it works because it makes zero sense to sign multiple players for a redundant role at excessive cost on a very limited budget. But if you think questions are fact, that's of course your perception.
He definitely deserves to carry the can. If they had all been roaring successes he would have taken the praise.
Then please enlighten me which ones, because I absolutely don't have any facts other than we bought 5 no10s for a significant amount of money and haven't given them a go. That's the only fact i have. None of us know how the spreadsheet works, just a couple of mentions of things in the public domain like Patricks comments about Connor Wilkinson. We don't know if our process can be over ridden and/or by who and why we signed so many players that haven't been played and have been loaned out. So if you think I've placed something as fact, please let me know what, unless you've got me confused with some other post.
