...through the post today. It seems you aren't allowed to spend more than an hour shopping in Wath Asda when you are using their car park. I will be having words tomorrow, but it's Parking Eye who have issued the fine. It's one of those which goes up the longer it's left. Bloody ridiculous.

Shopping in Wath must be jinxed, old mate. My eldest went to Wath Tesco today and some clown, in a van, reversed into her car, while she was stationary, and somehow thinks it's HER fault.
    The Perm is angry!!!

Go to Asda with your receipt and they will get it cancelled.

The same happened to us at Handsworth Asda and customer services were very apologetic and said they'd sort it, which they did.

    That’s not the case anymore.

There was a test case last year.

Yeah try this, I once went over time in Morrisons we'd been into town first then did shopping and ate in cafe. I even told them I'd been into town first they were fine as I had receipts from the shop and just cancelled it.

As already advised, go back to the shop they'll cancel it. But keep an eye out for further correspondence and take that into the shop too if u get it. Whatever u do, do not ignore it, as they will take it to it's eventual extreme and a ccj, by which time your £40 will be nearer £500, no not me, but a stubborn work colleague can testify.

Morrison's certainly refund your parking at the checkout. Surely they wouldn't do that if it was BMBC.

UPDATE: I've been into the supermarket this morning and they have agreed to cancel it. I'm now worrying that she will forget. If worrying was an Olympic sport, I would be a gold medalist.

I think the important question here is how did you manage to spend over an hour walking round a converted netto?

Easier done than you think. Someone stopped me to talk about BFC's desperate plight for a start!

Park in Tesco over the road. I do that and sometimes nip over the road to Asda to check what offers they might have.Tesco have a café so if you get a ticket you can say you were in there. But I've sometimes parked in Tesco's for well over an hour and never had bother.

I think you get a couple of hours in Tesco. There's no shortage of parking in Wath. There's also the car park near the library and the one near the doctors surgery where the market sets up on a Wednesday. The town centre is on its arse with a lot of empty shops and all three banks now closed..No-one would park in Asda and toddle off anywhere else. There's better options elsewhere. There's no need for parking cameras in Asda other than for profiteering.
