..if this cancellation means he will be fit to resume playing in time for the next fixture? I was not there but reading reports and comments his departure from the field of play did affect the team in more ways than just the psychological effect of his injury on his teammates i.e. he was missed.

Not sure re: Jackson but had imagined it would help bring Pinnock up to speed for the next fixture

got to be good news to have Pinnock & Jackson ready for upcoming games

Pearson is not a bad utility option on the bench, but I think he needs a bit of time to get up to this level

in the long run I think Pinnock is our next big money sale, he is a proper footballing defender, a la Stones & they are in demand in the top flight

Jackson & Lindsay are both very solid Championship defenders, but are less capable distributing the ball.

According to Jose, he's not showing any adverse reaction and should be fit
    and available for selection soon.

That's right Spider. Some of the Officers who work at Moorlands, drink in the pub I used
as my local when I lived in Donny. Without specifically "naming names" when I was over home
I popped into the pub and in conversation, they hinted at the fact that an England winger who last
played for Sunderland was "under their care."

Footballers in jail, evoked thoughts of the 1964 football betting scandal. Masterminded by former
Scottish Youth International Jimmy Gauld, as many as thirty players were accused of betting
on games that they were playing in and had agreed to " throw".
In total ten of the accused including Gauld received custodial sentences. The most notable
we're three Sheffield Wednesday players, David " Bronco" Layne and England defenders Peter
Swan and Tony Kay, who at the time he was jailed, had moved to Everton.
I worked with a lad who's brother got six months for nicking some bricks off a building site and it transpired
that he was sent to Thorpe Arch nick. Whilst he was there the jailed footballers all rocked up.
The Prison fielded a football team in a local league and had the advantage of playing all their games at home.
Because the newly jailed prisoners had their pro- registrations cancelled, they simply signed a form that was
registered with the County FA allowing them to play. Apparently, a local team had not been defeated for three seasons
we're the lags first opponents. They turned up in the kit that Leeds were famed for re-all White with those annoying
little flags bearing their numbers poking out of their socks. It was sponsored by Leeds themselves.
My mate got a pass to visit his brother and was telling us about the game when he returned to work. The lags turned out in old torn shirts, with different coloured shorts and socks that didn't match. The Prison team comprised of a former Scottish international keeper, two players from Bristol Rovers, two from Mansfield Town and one from York City, Walsall, Hartlepool as well as Layne and Swan from Wednesday and Kay of Everton. Apparently the lags licked this crack Leeds outfit 19-0 and Bronco Lane scored twelve of the goals and shortly after their invincibility ended in tatters they dropped out of the league.
