Have you watch Man City this year? They’re unbelievable no matter how much they’ve spent he’s different class. Look at what he’s done to Sterling, Stones and Otamendi this year if you need any proof.
I'm pretty sure when he looks back at what he's done in his career, the thing that will rankle will be the fact that @Denihol thought he was ****.
Yes I do watch Manchester City a lot.. did I slate Manchester City? No. I’m slating Pep Guardiola who gets a free ride
That’s down to Sterling himself, working harder, setting himself personal goals, taking all the stick he gets from people and turning it into something good. Frank Lampard scored 20 plus a season no matter who was in charge at Chelsea, it’s down to that certain player
You only have to listen to what his players have to say about him to be in absolutely no doubt he's one of the best. Sane, Aguero, Sterling, Silva have all said as much in recent interviews.
Chortle. A serious question?? The finest coach in the history of football - at any level. Has transformed the way in which the game is played and why winning ‘the right way’ matters, and can be achieved.
More or less responsible for Spain winning the World Cup as well & 2 Euro competitions. Wish all the England squad was at Man City so he can coach them like he has Sterling, Stones, Walker & Delph
Yeah any manager would have them 16 points clear. Playing some if the finest football I have ever seen. The man is a genius for me, and i love watching his teams play the game. The passion the man has for football is infectious. He gets the absolute best out of his players, they want to play for him, they believe in his ideals, if you think it is that easy then I think you are missing out on appreciating something very special that we are seeing.
I'm 43 and I've never seen football played the way Guardiola's teams have done. In the Premier League, I thought the Arsenal team built by Wenger from 97 to about 04 changed the game but City this season have taken it several levels above that. What he seems to be able to achieve and I think this is a marker of his excellence as a coach, is have all players, goalkeeper included, able to do the basics exceptionally well, they all want the ball even if they're under pressure, they have no fear of making errors. I wouldn't have classed a few of the City team as elite players, Sterling the best example, but collectively as a team they're as good as anything. I get the caveat of money being a factor, but I think Guardiola has a vision of how he wants his team to play and I don't think he necessarily has the 25 best individuals in his squad, but has got them playing his way. At Barcelona, whilst there's no doubt having Messi in your side is more than a little helpful, he also built that side around dependable unfussy players like Puyol, Iniesta, Busquets, Xavi etc. I still think the 2011 Barcelona side is the finest I've seen, but City are heading that way, probably need to win the European Cup to realistically compare the two. But what I've seen of Man City this season, I can only say it's an absolute joy to watch when in full flow.
What has Messi got to do with anything? Btw since you mentioned it, I think Messi would struggle. Unlike Ronaldo he hasn’t been tested in any other league
Why would he ever leave Barca though? Ronaldo didn’t come to England to test himself, he came because it was the best offer available to him at the time. If he’d have come through the Real academy he’d have never left. If you leave Real or Barca the only way is down as they don’t sell to each other
Messi would ot struggle. Its freakish how good he is. This is a great article about him https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/fivethirtyeight.com/features/lionel-messi-is-impossible/amp/
If you really think Messi would struggle I think we must be watching different games. And the reason I mentioned him was a anology, why would pep go and manage a poor team?
I watched Burnley - Everton yesterday, both are in the top half of the premier league & the standard was garbage. I can’t imagine why anyone would think that Messi would struggle against sides on that level or worse
