    "Non-Priority

If you have not purchased Priority & 2 Cabin Bags, you are only permitted to bring 1 small bag on board. Your second 10kg bag will be tagged at the gate and put into the hold free of charge.

Your small bag (e.g. handbag, laptop etc.) must not exceed 35x20x20cm and should easily fit under the seat in front of you.

Your second 10kg bag must be 55x40x20cm in size and must fit into the sizers at the gate before being tagged and put into the hold free of charge.

Failure to comply will result in a charge of £50 per item at the departure gate and may also lead to delays for all passengers on board."

Does this statement not contradict itself ?

Are they actually stating small cases are not allowed in the cabin, only (as an example) laptop bags?
So a bigger bag would be put in the hold for free but if you get it slightly wrong you're opening yourself up for a £50 charge (each direction). Thanks.

Yes, your larger bag will be put into the hold. Providing it meets the size/weight restrictions it will be put in free. Basically they are taxing folk wanting to get away from the plane quickly

Yes pretty much “hand baggage” that most carriers let you actually carry on up to 10kg, sizes as above Ryanair are now making you put in the hold..... unless and here’s the winner... you’ve paid for it to go in the cabin!!

Yep, off to Dublin next month to see Arcade Fire and had to pay retrospectively for priority now to be able to have hand luggage.

Yes mate. Never been before. Its in the round too, and we are standing. New country for me too. To be honest I usually avoid big arena gigs but make an exception for Arcade Fire. Went to see them at Madison Square Garden in 2010 which was immense.

Hopefully that happens mate, but the email I received and information on the net is pretty unequivocal that it will be taken off you at the gate if you haven't paid for priority

You'll love Dublin, pal we walked there and back to the arena but its quite a distance, just keep the river on your right and follow it towards the docks. Or in hindsight get the tram it stops right outside.

What they generally do is come down the line when you're waiting to board and tell you that due to the number of people on the flight, you'll have to put your bag in the hold.

I agreed to do so the first time and had an expensive bottle of aftershave taken out of my bag.

The 2nd time, I refused and the guy pretty much said I had no choice in the matter and to put any concerns I had in writing to Ryanair.

I’m confused because we logged in to try and buy priority but the option is greyed out like we already have it. We haven’t paid for it though unless it comes as standard with Expedia. No idea what bags I can take.

Refuse to fly with dreary O’Leary, after being kept waiting with all other passengers in buses with minimum number of seats for over an hour, while they cleaned the plane.
