Something very odd about that and very weird about the way the police are not really giving out any information.
Arrested for arson with intent to endanger life very much suggests that they deliberately blew up the property but manslaughter suggests that it was an accident.
Just seems very odd and the details are very sketchy.

Seems to be linked to gangs distilling illegal Vodka - similar explosion last year - Lincoln? Boston Spa? Somewhere like that. That would make sense for manslaughter as they were engaged in dangerous and illegal activity but the explosion was a consequence, not the objective.

The manslaughter part would make sense with that but would the arson with INTENT to endanger life? I was under the impression that arson is deliberately setting a house on fire not accidentally doing so.

One thing that is also interesting but probably not related is that a few years ago one of those arrested posted Isis propaganda videos on Facebook.

    https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news...explosion-three-men-charged-with-manslaughter

Four of the people killed in the blast have been named as Shane Rajoobeer, 18; his brother Sean, 17; Leah Beth Reek, 18, who was Shane’s girlfriend; and Viktorija Ljevleva, 22, with the fifth victim believed to be Shane and Sean’s 46-year-old mother Mary.

Ali, of Drake Close, Oldham, Hassan, of Eld Road, Coventry, and Kurd, of Hillary Place, Leicester, are due to appear in court on Monday.

Two other men, both from East Anglia, have been arrested over the blast and continue to be questioned by police.

The police said they were detained on suspicion of conspiracy to cause an explosion and for offences under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The incident on Hinckley Road, which demolished a sshop and the two-storey flat above, follows an explosion in Boston, Lincolnshire, in 2011 that killed five Lithuanian men and was caused by an illegal vodka factory.

Leicestershire police refused to comment on media reports claiming the Hinckley Road explosion may have been caused by an illegal alcohol distillery.

See what I mean? That just causes more confusion because conspiracy to cause an explosion again suggest deliberate.

If it is related to an illegal distillery then the only thing I can think of is that it isn't the people operating it that have been arrested but it is people who have blown it up to stop it. Rivals?

Exactly. Some people have no shame in admitting just how racist they are. I don't know which bit makes them thicker, the fact they're racist or that they're stupid enough to show people

Many modern "British" names derive from Normandy, or you could be like the royal family and change your German name to fit in I guess.

Might be able to shed some light on this, as I live reasonably near by (just over a mile away). There have been rumours about this place for a long time. I don't want to say anything here that may get this forum in trouble, but let's just say that the proprietors may not have been running a totally legitimate business operation.

It wasnt all bad. Some scum died and we got some new buildings. No one in Boston was bothered by this except the foreign shop owners who missed out on the cheap produce. We have huge probelms with illegaly made cigs and alcohol here. All i can say is good ridance.
