Amazing how both Wiggins and Froome are both apparently asthmatic .. (??)

It's all bent. Wouldn't be surprised to find out most people have been doping than not.

The old saying "you don't have to be asthmatic to be a pro cyclist ............ but it helps" comes to the fore again.

After trying to believe it has cleaned up, I now can't. As a keen cyclist that saddens me. But let's be right, money is King in ALL pro sport and as such, all sports suffer. Football is not clean.

The last big thread on the subject on the BBS I added the sad state of affairs about the amount of sportsmen who suddenly croak whilst at the peak of physical fitness. It's happened again this weekend. Yes, I don't know the facts or the underlying condition, but a supreme athlete, captain of Fiorentina and Italy player won't be the last example this year.

Team Sky will struggle to survive this, but will they fold whilst the clamour for a top British team still exists? Who will take over from them? Team Wiggins won't, that's for sure. So although Team Sky will struggle to survive, I believe they will just about cling on but without Sir Dave at the helm.

No surprise to anyone not taken in by the Team Sky/Media love in that's happened over the past 10 years

The cheats are always one step ahead of the testers so we will likely see this cycle of dominance followed by exposure and disgrace several years afterwards repeat itself several more times.

Agreed. As per the Spanish football team. World beaters 2004 - 2008. Then Fuentes got busted.

Fuentes got busted in 2006, Spain didn’t start dominating until 2008 though he has been linked to Barca, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad & AC Milan

I’m afraid pretty much all sport except none physical ones like Darts, Snooker & Archery are rife with doping.

Wiggins & Froome are tainted, as is Farah, crazy how he won SPOTY last year with all the evidence against him.

Football’s ridiculous, players running more than ever before & disappearing abroad every time they get an injury to get specialist treatment.

Players getting silent bans. Lots of rumours about an England defender currently suspended due to drugs but it been kept silent. The same club who play at a high intensity & had another player serve a drugs ban not so long ago.

Been going on a long time as well. Italian football full of it in the 90’s, Ronaldo’s ‘issues’ the night before the 98 World Cup final

They already had a snooker drugs story. Thats why they have banned Beta-blockers from being taken by snooker players.

Fair point but the hard yards had been done in training before 2008. Found this bit on Wikipedia. Also strong rumours UEFA / FIFA paid big bucks to make sure the players blood bags 'disappeared'. As said above, money involved in all sport means sportsmen (and women, sorry Lizzie) will do whatever it takes to grab their share of it.

In December 2010, a fellow inmate claimed Fuentes had told him, "If I would talk, the Spanish football team would be stripped of the 2010 World Cup". Fuentes denied having said this in a 2013 interview

The player you refer to was allegedly for cocaine? Also rumoured to have dealt it.

Surprised if someone earning millions would risk it with a prison sentence. Though in that neck of the woods, nothing would surprise me

I agree with what you are saying BUT be careful what you write on a Forum cos you could just end up in court for libel if unproved. Just saying.

Wow, David Walsh has just ripped Bradley and Team Sky a new one; very hard hitting interview with Holly and Phil on ITV.

Once Walsh is on your case, there is little chance of redemption.

I know Walsh was proved right on Armstrong but the guy has it in for cycling in general so is not an objective commentator. My biggest problem with Wiggins, Froome, Farah is that there is absolutely no evidence of wrong doing, none. We can all assume someone is guilty and I guess they could be but I have a sneaky feeling that the Russians aren’t far away from the story ( we also all have our favourite conspiracy targets!). As for the MPs report, what happened to innocent until proved guilty?

I might be missing something here but didnt the MP's report say that no rules were actually broken - just the spirit of the rules or words to that effect

Now I am not condoning the way Sky have behaved but its nothing like the same as Armstrong or even the doping programs of the Russians etc
I mean many countries would just have stopped the report with no rules were broken. And as for MP's talking about crossing Ethical lines - or Journalists for that matter ....
