Apparently both Isgrove and Hammill are not in his plans, I think it could be a similar situation to Jose Mourinho at Chelsea with Juan Mata, although Mata was a good attacking option, Mourinho likes his wingers to track back... so he sold him to Manchester Utd or am I talking crap as usual ? haha

Don’t tend to use wingers in a 4-2-3-1 to be honest.. left or right midfield, which can track back to help the defenders

Mourinho loves his big strong players ;-)

So im guessing Morais is following that philosophy

I thought Izzy has sort of been our catalyst this season (I.e our few good performances/results have often been with him involved) however he wasn’t at it against Burton and Wednesday in my opinion.

I’d still prefer him in our match day squad though. As others have said, his pace and tempo is enough to trouble opposition, especially off the bench against tiring legs.

Agree With all of this and from listening to the interview I’d say it’s a reflection of those poor performances until he can prove he’s committed to JM’s required work ethic. Which is fair enough IMO. Imagine he will be given another chance at some point

You only get one chance to make a first impression, and his performance against Burton wasn't good, infact he appeared to not care. If Morais doesn't think he has the fight in his belly to keep us up, I trust his judgement as someone who sees him nearly every day of the week.

As opposed to the free flowing total football we've seen up to Morais arriving. FF actual S

It’s pretty obvious against Cardiff tmoz that we need to win our fair share of physical battles to stand any chance of getting owt so maybe he thinks Izzy and hammill are too lightweight.

I was at Hull & we were great 1st half, Thiam was a threat & provided balls into the danger areas, however, Thiam has never played more than 60 mins effectively & when he went off he played Potts out wide.

Potts isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he was doing ok in the middle, however out wide he could do nothing right, we were no longer a threat wide & when McBurnie went off, we were no threat at all full stop.

The game was screaming out for an Izzy type player, but we went 5 across the back & retreated into not only our half, but our penalty area!

If we are to only be effective for 1 half of a two half game, we will be in trouble, we are still conceding goals & need to have an outlet & someone who can get hold of the ball & create at least something in the opponents half of the pitch.

I like the fact that we have gained points, but the system still needs work & i don't think Jose can close his mind to changing games mid way thru, Hammill & Izzy give you that option.

One of our better players , seems crazy to rule anybody out of the team . Am sure a4/4/2 with mcburnie and Moore would be good with two wingers feeding them with crosses , or even isgrove or Hammill as part of a 4-3-3 system

"Seems Morais is unhappy with Isgrove on some level".

Presumably that's a fairly low level, given their respective heights :D

I get the impression we've been nursing Isgrove from one game to the next fitness wise. That's probably why JM isn't keen.

If he is going on first impressions from the Burton game then Williams and Gardner would currently be across the road shovelling horse **** at the riding for the disabled place

Let's not blow any of this out of proportion. As JM never appears to tire of saying, we are 'in a moment' with 'possibilities'. At this 'moment' Izzy is not preferred but there'll be other 'moments' where he might be...if we all just 'believe' we'll be fine.
I just want points at the this 'moment', the free flowing footie can come later. What I really don't like is inviting teams on whatever 'moment' we're in.

Didn’t really cover himself in glory with the answer Morais gave about Isgrove avoided the question and then got a little bit shitty and turned it to we are here to talk about Cardiff not one player.

Seems he doesn’t like to have his opinion questioned.

Or it's an attitudinal issue. I got the impression that at this moment Izzy is not 'helping' the team. I feel confident that Izzy will have been told what's expected of him if he wants to feature. Izzy is the last player I'd expect to be attitudinally suspect but...who knows! I agree with you though that avoiding the question just fuels speculation.

Very harsh on Izzy who looked good vs Sheff Wed, and was very good at Sunderland and most other game when he has played! Just like most of the others, he had a poor half vs Burton....But Izzy gives us so much energy, he would be brilliant off the bench at the moment when the front three start to fade after an hour! Thaim can't play more than an hour!! Izzy would be a great sub for him, it was crying out for someone like him at Hull with pace and energy! He does need to get fully fit though!!

One of our best players. A fit on form Isgrove is a shoe in surely.
