Used to follow them about a bit in 80s. Saw them at Bradford Uni when they were filming a programme called "bubbling under". They used to pack out our local clubs when they came. Great times. They're doing a farewell gig at Birdwell as far as I know, but I don't think Steve kendal is with them any more. 2 clubs they used to come to, Farmers and Soldiers both sadly long gone along with the club scene.
Yep remember them as well , went round all the clubs watching the Turns , what was that place Oakwell side of Railway station
Yeah radiation were good. I can remember when they were on at Kinsley Farmers and Gent's on at Hemsworth Soldiers on same night. Both were ticket only and sold out. Internationals, Bitter Suite and Teaser were all popular as well.
Yep saw all them , them was the days used to have a reyt laugh going round them packed clubs in them days all good bands really too, wether I liked em or not
Takes me right back does this, good old club days. Folk with their sandwiches and sausage rolls, wrapped in foil under the table. 'Cockle Man' then used to come round with his basket of pickled seafood. And an army of blue rinses shushing you for daring to even whisper while bingo was on. Such a shame nights like that are pretty much gone forever.
There was a funny time when everything went oriental. Groups in charts such as Japan and China Crisis and club bands jumped on it. Can remember one band called "Geisha" and they came out decked in karate suits. Serious stuff at the time!
