Will only happen if others continue to be awful. Expected nothing tonight or at Middlesbrough on Saturday. From games remaining we are toiling big style. Can only see points opportunities with Millwall, Bolton and Brentford at home with nothing else. Cannot see us staying up with so few points though
Hope you are right Gordon. IF we can stay up I think Jose will have a massive clear out and hopefully with his contacts he can bring in some decent players who are worth watching
I'd like to think we'll drop on a few games where the opposition have little to play for and we can grind out a result or three. But I do think our survival will be dependent on the awful form of other teams. We'll be going some to be worse than all of the teams around us. I do actually think Birmingham will pick up under Monk, there's some decent players there. Sunderland are gone I fancy, Burton seem to be struggling. It'll be very very close. I still think we could attack our way out of trouble, perhaps I'm pinning to much hope and the likes of Isgrove, Hammill, McBurnie etc, but I'm not at all convinced by our current cautious, tactical approach. We'll see, Morais is the manager, he knows a lot more than me.
I keep thinking that one or two of them will start picking up some wins, but they still fail to do so. Will 42 pts be enough for us IF we can get that many.
We can't have a massive clear out because some of the the players we recruited in the summer are on 3 year contracts. Basically were in the **** .
I agree. Although millwall are on course for a 5th away win in a row atm and we have been horrific at home for over a year.
We are missing the likes of 10/15 goals from hamill this yr not to mention assists what has happened He not even on the bench tonight .I think this yr he has been very absent in content quality and effort I don't know why but I hoped the new regime and staffing changes might have made a difference
I have just accepted that we are simply not good enough. It's hard to accept but results don't lie and if we do go down there would be no argument from me. But hang on Casper has just bagged
It's in our own hands I haven't seen a team at oakwell that we couldn't match if er had applied ourself to or been tactically aware if management had changed months ago
What about the 3 below? All getting battered at home by worse teams than Cardiff. 3 go down last time l looked not 4.
Don't need any when the league's this bad. We're away from home against the form team of the division, who haven't conceded in their last four games and losing by the odd goal. We've been the better team in the 2nd half why would we be saying we're down? I would if l supported any of the bottom 3.
Irrespective of the performance on the night, I don't think many of us were predicting anything other than defeat tonight.
