Your'e right DSL. West Brom always seemed to be our bogey team, but I was at the Hawthorns when
we beat them at the beginning of the season we were promoted to the Premiership. We also got revenge
on Blackburn in 2000. We beat them 5-1 ( Dyer 2, Hignett, Shipperly and Barnard) and eventually qualified
for the play off final against Ipswich under Bassett. I loved that team. I remember we played Grimsby on Boxing
Day at Blundell Park. Brother in laws car broke down and by the time we found somewhere to park and got to the
ground, we were winning 2-0. We could ring the changes with that team. Take Sheron off and put Shipperley on
without weakening the threat up front with Dyer and Higgy also weighing in with their fair share of goals.

Was that the game where there was trouble with our fans? I vaguely remember a blurred photo in the chronicle the week after of some large group of fans and police at the side of the away end.

As for worst performance, struggling to think of a worse showing than losing 2-0 to MK Dons just before Wilson got sacked. Totally inept.

    Barnsley 0 - 2 Norwich (2002)

Had to win to stay up. Didn’t even muster a shot on target from what I remember. Players had already given up before the first whistle. Even a penalty save at 0-0 couldn’t spur us on. Went down without a whimper. Totally gutless.

    Oh, God. Yes.

Truly one of the worst performances ever.

So much riding on it, and we offered nothing. A dark day in our history.

I have ******* hated Norwich ever since. They seemed to love relegating us.

Huddersfield away with Frimpong, Shea, Proschwitz, Mellis etc, losing 5-0 to what at the time were a very average side when we were supposed to be fighting for our lives was pathetic.

It was made even worse because everyone turned up with fresh memories of that famous 2-2 draw that kept us up from the season before.

There’s a lot of bad performances & a lot of of bad results mentioned on here but I don’t think many combine both quite like this one did, honestly think Huddersfield could’ve got 10 if they wanted to embarrass us, we were spineless

Far too many to name just one, but Northampton away in cup is right up there for me.

Absolutely bossed by team from league below and it was cold and miserable.

Similar to my pick that would be Chester at home. Played off the park by a non league team that trains twice a week. Had we lost 7-0 we couldn't have said we were unlucky. Daylight robbery to get a 0-0 draw and thankfully same mistakes weren't made in the replay.

Forgot about that one. Did Jennings score the individual goal in the second leg/replay?

At least we scored at Bristol. Sheffield united was as limp a performance as I've seen in a while. I don't think we had a decent spell at any point during the game.

The trouble was because quite a few wanted to leave at half time and stewards and police wouldn't let them.

Doncaster Rovers away 04/05 season, lost 4-0 on a bitterly cold Tuesday night. Awful performance!

Well it was my first time in the new east stand near the end of 1992-93, a cold and windy and horrible Wensday night 0-0 draw with Notts County.

Btw, I think Clarkie was sacked after the Nov 5th weekend loss at home to Portsmouth in 1989-90. And I believe it was Eric Winstanley in charge the following week when we got t*watted 7-0 at West Brom.

Losing 4-1 at home to Blackpool in the cup. 02/03 season.

Having gone one nil up early, it’s the only time I’ve left a game early. Went 4-1 down after just over an hour, I couldn’t take any more. Alex Neil and Chris Lumsdon in the middle of the park may as well have not been there, we’d have been as well off with nine men.

Nobody was good that day mind you.

Martin Bullock played for Blackpool that day too.

    Crewe 2 Barnsley 1

Joicey missed a penalty and John Peachey was offside so many times I became convinced you ought to be able to get yellow and red cards for it! I also remember a very frank (and very Scottish) exchange of views between Ali Miller and the linesman close to where we were stood. I think Ali only got away with it because the lino was scared!

Altrincham in the FA Cup. Lost to a non league side whilst barely putting up a fight.

Bradford away under Spackman - details erased from my mind apart from the abject performance of Kevin Donovan, which will forever be with me!

Was that the one where Mal Shotton played because we'd no fit centre-backs and Fleming got crocked?
