Well mcburnie was stood on the edge of our penalty area. If that's playing as a striker lll not bother going on Saturday because it's not the game of football I love
Yeah i definitely dont think he told them to drop deep and defend they just werent good enough when norwich applied abit of pressure. Apart from the mcburnie goal we never looked like scoring. Thiam has some qualities but im not sure hes ever going to score, same can be said for moore...... Wins alot of headers but he's never going to be prolific. Thats 2 of our 3 forward positions that doesnt look like scoring, add to that our abysmal midfield contribution with regards to creating chances and hitting the target its clear that we put so much pressure on the defence with our inability to score
We played well until we scored. Only one team in the match during the first half. Big change in tactics for the second half, which Norwich took and got back in the match from.
We've got 23 average players and 2 decent ones . Some of the 23 are getting the chance every third week to show their averageness , 6 or 7 of the average 23 are lucky enough to show their averageness every week . Its just beige !
Goals which should be consolations for the opposition are equalisers or winners, because we can rarely put a game to bed.
I get the feeling his remit was to get us safe as soon as possible and if you ask me he bloke is panicking already but won't/can't admit it. His plan seems to be to get in front then hold on for all we're worth (which isn't a lot tbh). If we go behind then we'll throw the kitchen sink at it in an attempt to get back in the game.
Would you rather McBurnie and Isgrove just let their full back run past them? They switched to 3 at the back and pushed the full backs forward which pinned McBurnie and Isgrove back. The only tactical switch was from Norwich who were chasing the game so had to take risks and throw men forwards. Unfortunately we weren't good enough/too knacked to exploit the counter.
To be fair, that’s pretty much what Isgrove did for their goal. I felt like we pushed Williams back a bit further than what he was at the beginning of the match but as others have said, Norwich had to attack at some point during the game and that pushed us back.
