Who dares leave the club with the ink still wet on a new contract. To a local rival when you're a fan of the club you're leaving. Bloke's a ******.

What relevance is the signing of a new contract? Would it have been relevant if we'd sacked him the following week?
What relevance is the club he moved to? Unless you're so narrow minded that you think a person's career options should be curtailed by your tribal prejudices.

As was said at the time , it’s not WHAT or WHY he did, it’s HOW

-What is inevitable about relegation? We still might stay up despite his best efforts to sabotage us

-Spent a year and a half banging on about how much he loved the club, the fans etc, just to toddle off to Leeds first opportunity he got (aka clearly not a 'lifelong Barnsley fan', just suited his narrative)

-Got all his success with a team built by other people, that could have managed itself then rebuilt it with some absolutely shocking players

-Went on an absolutely abysmal run of form, with his own players, and took advantage of the good faith of the fans to keep his job longer than most would, with the crowd still singing his name

-Used the club as a bargaining chip having seemingly been perfectly happy to sign a new contract, leaving us completely in the lurch desperately looking for a new manager completely unprepared at a vital point in our relegation scrap

-To repay those fans that IMO saved his job, he half wrote out a couple of very poorly written sentences while grinning ear to ear outside elland road

-What the f*ck is the point in football if you think none of the above should illicit any response in you. Sick to the teeth of the few fans who seemingly consider themselves 'above' a bit of rivalry and calling a spade a spade

-For the record, he is a f*cking spade.

It's a no lose situation for him, if he a succeeded he'd be a hero, if he fails (which is looking likely) he'll get a good pay off and getting sacked by Leeds doesn't harm your CV

I'm not above a bit of rivalry.
I never said he was a brilliant manager though I liked him.
I am against pathetic, shallow spiteful rubbish directed against an actual person for looking after his future. It's absolutely childish at best.

Missed the key point, do you think he was on so little money on his new contract he needed to do all the above? Did he f*ck. He could have lived perfectly comfortably on that, in a town where the fans loved him and he had a lot of good will and job security. No excuse and no amount of folks like you condescending about it will make it any more reasonable.

I'm condescending but you've taken it upon yourself to decide that he should be happy to live and work where you see fit?
Job security? You're having a laugh. There is no job security in football.

I love and respect the people I work with but if someone comes and offers me 3 times (conservative) the wage I am on and possibly just as important can match my ambition then I would back myself where others had failed.
Also I don’t think I’m above friendly rivalry.

Your point being what? That he should have been satisfied with the money he was on here and trusted that he was never going to be sacked? Yeah right! Sithi too.

Didn’t his new contract mean Leeds had to pay us more compensation? Also how much job security did he have? Whilst Patrick owned the club it was fairly secure but I have no idea how secure he was under the new owners. If Leeds offered him a significantly larger contract why wouldn’t he go there and see what happens. I can’t wish him success whilst he is at Leeds (unless they are playing Bolton of course) but I understand why he left and don’t bear him any ill will.

I’m not really arsed one way or the other about his future however I don’t want Leeds to do well.

The way I look at it is he clearly wanted out for a long time with the links to Sunderland & Norwich which I don’t blame him for, the way he was treated from January 2017 until January 2018 was a joke & I think anyone not from the town would’ve resigned.

He had a team that should’ve been bottom of the league outside of the bottom 3 when he left & with 2 quality strikers just joining to give us a much better chance of getting points in the second half of the season. I don’t subscribe to the ‘leaving us in the ****’ line, I think he did the best anyone could reasonably expect with the squad he had August - January.

If he does end up getting the sack he’ll get a good pay off & losing the Leeds job doesn’t really harm your reputation so he’ll soon find work at a bottom half championship side or decent league one side.

Our form under him was shocking after Conor went even with a decent squad.
Applied for every job going from summer onwards.
Could have handled it all alot better and the interviews after he came across abit arrogant to me. And I wasn't bothered he went we were certs to go down under him maybee he has done us all a favour.
We stay up, he gets a big pay out, Leeds are still ****.... Hopefully

I’m sick of people saying heckingbottom did the best with what money he had at his disposal. Did signing 17 centre midfielders who can’t run past the half way line at a million a piece not show you other wise?!

I want us to win at Leeds for one reason only and that is it could help keep us up.

Anything else or anyone connected to that cess-pit I couldn't care less about.

You’re making the mistake of thinking he wanted them players. He said repeatedly in press conferences / interviews that we weren’t signing the types of player he wanted

He also said if the club picked the players he signed he wouldn't play them. He said he picked the players.

He had final say from a small pool.

If you’d not eat & the three options on the table are all meals you don’t like you’d pick the one you dislike the least
