We’ll piss promotion from league one next season, McCarthy, Lindsay, Jackson, Pinillos Isgrove, McGeehan, Mallan, Hammill Bradshaw, Moore. Pinknock,Pearson, Fryers, Cavare, Mowatt, Knasmullner, Wolfe, Bird, DMH, Hedges, Thiam, Brown, We need a couple of goalkeepers, another two strikers, and at least one combative central midfielder maybe two, but apart from that we have a fantastic squad for that level, if we stay up to avoid another season of ***** and a relegation scrap, the lot have to go and we need to start again and spend millions.
I think the subs named would also be not far off a side that could challenge league 1, Walton Cavare pinnock Pearson fryers Potts moncur Knasmullner Thiam Brown hedges
Pinillos is slower that Darren Moore running through treacle up hill ! not a good signing at all. Lindsay is very ordinary McGeehan looked way off the pace, McCarthy is a poor fullback. Not many of this seasons squad are good enough. Also you have not mentioned Potts ?
Back 4 have continuously made school boy mistakes all season which will get punished at any level of football simple things like clearing your lines. Mcgeehan not pulling up any trees in league one this season + Mallan unknown quantity in English football. Isgrove' injury prone and been indifferent when started. I do think Moore and Bradshaw would be a handful in league one and would score goals that been said we need 2 strong centre midfielders with 2 more as back up. Be interesting to see if we were relegated and Morais stayed if he'd swap from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2. The bench looks pretty good on paper but inexperienced I just hope next season we can figure out our best side early on in the season can't be any good for the players swapping starting 11's from on week to the next. Wouldn't go as far to say we'd piss promotion but like you said a few more additions I think we'd be in top 8
I'd obviously prefer us to stay up and build and consolidate in this league. However, if we were to go down then, unlikely as it may be, it would be lovely to think that, just once in my lifetime, we could have a runaway season with 100 points, like Wolves this season or even the blunts last year. Would be really enjoyable for one season to turn up every week knowing you are likely to win. Aaah, we can but dream.
how many will be with us next season, how many of them run out of contract at the end of this season.
I cannot see Birmingham winning any of their last 3 games somehow. We still have it in our hands .... as long as we match or better Brum's results and win the game in hand we will stay up. But its gonna be a huge task , but not impossible. Bolton too have a more difficult finish than us too.
"We’ll piss promotion from league one next season" 3rd tier is littered with the corpses of folk who've said that...
It shouldn't take much funds at all to keep this squad together. The best of them are the loanees who will be gone though.
I wonder what how much the wage bill is for our in contract players next season. Will we need a fire sale like last time? If we do go down, will the new owners donate money to the club or provide an equity injection assuming that our wage bill would be more than 60% (or is it 75% first year?) of our turnover once the TV money is gone? I don't think we have to count players signed before September who were on more than 3 year contract (do we have any of those?)
