Maybe I shouldn’t have included that opening bit as I wasn’t intending to bring up a should he or shouldn’t he have left debate. Can see both sides of the argument.

I think he will be doing all he can to win, but I’m still holding out hope of a weakened Leeds line up. :)

As for Leeds having the patience and foresight to back him.. I really can’t see it.

Some people on here are bigger fans of Paul Heckingbottom's bank account and Leeds United than Barnsley.
In what way do Leeds United have 'clear premier league ambitions' more than any club that says 'I want to be promoted'? Is 10 years of mid-table finishes and a delusional fan base all it takes to impress you?

Some people are able to take an objective view, and to consider how the world might look from someone else's eyes. As for Leeds' ambitions, you might want to consider the statements of their owner, the money spent on players and the continuing support of their large crowds despite a lack of success measured against their hopes. They are considerably closer to the Premier League than Barnsley are right now. Having said that, it's a long game.

According to him from him being first made aware there was any interest from Leeds to not only him signing a contract but also his backroom staff discussing terms and all agreeing with their families to leave. In other words he's a bullshitter who may have knowingly screwed Barnsley to feather his own nest. He can clamcto be a fan all he wants but this club means nothing to him

Can't recall us beating many teams that "have nothing to play for" over the years.
They are professionals who are getting paid a lot of money to be.... professional.

Most of that is total assumption as per.

No evidence BFC couldn’t or wouldn’t match his ambitions.

18 months running down versus 12 months rolling. 6 months before he was in a worse contract situation

This future secured notion makes out he was on 5 bob at BFC.

Makes one wonder why he was happy to sign a new contract, wax lyrical about the new owners and their ambitions for the club if he was so disillusioned.:D

One most certainly is. Especially when one heard how happy he was to sign the new contract and how ambitious the new board are from the horse's mouth at the Lamproom in January.:)

But didn't the new contract increase the amount of compensation we received?

Beat Leeds. ..PMSL.. .delusional to say the least...not having a go at anyone ... just accept we are going down ...it's less painful..... we threw our best chance away Saturday of getting out of the bottom 3 and gain a little psychological advantage... league one here we come....sorry to say

He wanted out after January 2017. My guess is he’s have gone to more than half the teams in this league if the terms were right as he’d have a lot more backing than he gets at Barnsley.

I hate that he’s at Leeds but I don’t blame him for going. Barring clubs that are in financial difficulties I can’t think of a manager who’s had to deal with so much.

To lose 8 of your first 11 within a year & have them replaced with kids with little / no championship experience on one of the smallest wage budgets in the league whilst not even having enough forwards to play your preferred system would’ve pissed me off. To then read fickle fans whinging on Facebook & Twitter that we aren’t winning many games even though we were outside the drop zone despite all of the above would’ve sent me over the edge.

After what he did for us he deserved the chance to move on to a club with more resources it’s just **** that it was Leeds. He just decided to put his own career ahead of his loyalties.

I’ve said this before but we aren’t privy to what goes off at home. Wife, mates, parents, fellow managers / coaches etc saying to him you’re doing a great job under the circumstances, you aren’t getting the backing you deserve, you’re doing two jobs for one wage, you can earn more elsewhere etc.

I can never dislike him because of what he did for us but I’ll never want Leeds to win unless it benefits Barnsley so in that respect I hope he does **** at Leeds

What will really put the cat among the pigeons is if he celebrates if Leeds go in front.:)

Of course he will celebrate if Leeds go in front , he is the Leeds manager & he will want to win even more after the dogs abuse he took at Oakwell last saturday which was bang out of order considering he had his daughter with him , what ever the fans feel about him does not excuse him getting abused in front of kids
