Stick some money on it. He's one we're looking at.

Not surprised. Done well with Blackpool the last two seasons under very difficult circumstances. Can't see him turning down the move unless we're being silly.

    He was my choice tbh.
I did however, want Spackman & Parkin in the past......

"I think he’s done a very good job in the circumstances of no home fans roaring the team on, terrible training ground conditions, way too many offfield distractions, players treated worse then commodities by the directors - plus the vile stench of Oyston pervading throughout.

Whether he is the right man in a normal club, I don’t know but if I was a chairman of a clusterfeck club I’d get him in."

Just got this off Blackpools Forum, an opinion of a fan obviously.... think we just about qualify☺☺

I just been considering about how happy I was with managers in my time and whether what I thought turned out good or bad interesting some I got right some wrong Was happy with Clarke and Hunter Ritchie and Hecky, as well as Spackmand and Parkin and Hill
Wasnt happy with Hart or Davey or Morais - got those right
Wasnt happy with Bassett or Wilson(1)

Upshot is I havent a clue

Anyone who can remember Pat Howard is, by definition, past it and bewildered.
Of course I've only read about him in books. :D

Pat used to live just round the corner from me in Gilroyd when I was a kid. My all time favourite Barnsley defender.

Pat and Winnie were at the heart of the defence when I started watching. Great pairing. But unlike big lil slightly preferred Winnie. As for favourite defender Paul Futcher. Maybe not the best but oozed class. ( best footballing centre half I had the privilege to see. If anyone thinks Mawson was good in this department and not knocking him by the way. I think in today's football Futcher would be up there with the best. Prone to the odd **** up mindst.)

Davey was in charge over 3 years and kept us up. I think all in all he did a good job. Not sure why people try to rewrite history!

If it hadn't been for the odd total **** up he was prone to and, maybe a lack of pace Futch would have been an England player.
I do actually remember Pat Howard but wasn't old enough to form a reliable opinion. Some might say I'm still not! :)

Anyways, apologies for hijacking the thread. This Bowyer fella. His stats seem solid. One promotion under his belt. And anyone who can do well at Blackpool these days must have something going for him. Anybody got any further info?

If he's used to doing well in a home ground that's quiet, he will be at home being the head coach at our morgue.

Davey had more money to spend, I’d say we had a budget much closer to a mid-table one unlike the bottom 6 one we’ve had from probably Hill onwards so we expected more than just scraping survival.

Even now despite replacing a whole team after generating huge profits we’ve not spent more than what we did on Hume

We haven't spend alot on one player but when you look at mowatt mcgheen and thiam you are looking at near on 2.5million pound. Could go on Lindsay 350k pinnock 500k moore 650k so in the past 12 months we have spent more on incoming players than we ever have.

Despite whats been served upto us oer last season I think the crowd did their bit throughout it all, Maybe a few games can go darn as morgue like but all in all vocal support was given.
