Farewell Adam and thanks for everything. Seriously, a shining example to any young footballer in your attitude and appreciation of what it means to be a fan and your respect of our passion.

People who give as much to clubs and communities as you are a dying breed.

I hope it's Adam's decision as it's pretty shoddy if it's the club's after everything. All the best in the future Adam!

The one player release that I disagree with. Hopefully its because Adam's had offers from abroad that will suit him better than we can offer. All the best for the future Adam.

Gutted and as others have said I hope it is his decision and not the club deciding he is surplus to requirements because that would be another bollock dropped by them.

Best wishes Adam, I hope everything goes well for you.

Neither trips to Wembley nor the promotion would have happened without you. It's that simple. And those few months were ******* amazing. A very, very special time. Thank you.

Very basic bare minimum said, which follows on from the closed doors way the club's been since relegation.

Seems like a passionate, from the heart response to me. Nothing corporate about it, real feelings. I like it.

    Gutted beyond words.

The last remaining heartbeat at Barnsley FC.

Adam, if you read this, you are a true legend. Don't be a stranger and come back one day. You will forever be welcomed. Thank you for so many memories, so many tricks, so much graft and determination.

It's been a joy. Thank you.

I will always be grateful for his second spell with us. He kick started one of the best 12 months to be a Barnsley fan I have experienced and certainly the best this Millenium

Had 1 good game this season, and can’t remember many more the season before. If you think he’s been value for money on a rumoured £8k a week, you’re barking.

Totally gutted to have to read this, the club should’ve done everything within our power to keep Adam at the club.

In today’s soul-less game of football that football has deteriorated into, Adam was a breath of fresh air that kept a real connect between the fans and the club. We are losing a lot more than a talented footballer today.

I would like to personally thank Adam for everything he has done for us and as posted above it is highly unlikely that those memories that were created at Wembley would have existed but for him.

    Best wishes Adam.

Think that’s the key for me. It’s more than just losing a player, it’s losing the one remaining connection that seemed to exist between the club and the fans.

It’s hard to watch a club that was working so hard to be more part of the community make decisions like this.

Suppose it is the price for “internationalising” our club. Personally would rather our club remained focussed on the community, and building the bonds with the people who watch week in week out.

I hope it was your decision, Adam. You'll always be welcome back. My grandson will be very upset; he was one of the mascots at the first home game last season, and asked to walk out with you. He has your number on his shirt, and you were so kind to him on the day. He is still talking about it. He's eight years old, and is now a Red for life, just like his mother, me, his grandad and his great-grandads. Thanks a million for breathing life back into the Club.

Can you give any examples of when, even when not playing well in a piss poor team, Adam didn't give 100% effort and commitment?

He has earned the plaudits and the respect of the fans for these reasons as well as the performances in seasons gone.

He's a shining example of how to conduct yourself for ninety minutes regardless of form.
