Have a look at the numbers. It’s not a cop out, pardon the pun, it’s just simply a fact.

It is a cop out.. Blaming everything on austerity is such and easy option. I'm all in favour of having a larger force but again they have the numbers required to be able to police the town centre with 2 or three of them on the beat. I'm not denying that they should have more funding by the way.

Say you take the three officers from elsewhere and put them on the beat. What would you do with the spiceheads considering the rehab centres are on their knees and police station doesnt have the capacity?

That's like saying stop arresting rapists and murderers or any other crime because the police house is full.. Regardless, they have commited a crime that under our laws they should be arrested for and I expect the police to uphold the law not pick the ones they wish to enforce.

The police are way overstretched due to huge cutbacks. As a result a lot of roberries aren't investigated.

No one has come up with an answer to the drugs problem. Alcohol causes far more problems to society than illegal drugs though.

What crime have they commited by taking a legal high?

The priorities are the ones mentioned in your post not zombies making the place look untidy.

Whether you like it or not austerity has consequences. These people probably now cost the taxpayer far more than a rehab centre would due to the wasting of ambulance resources and the odd police resource. With the added impact of putting people off visiting town.

Right now it’s a problem with no easy answer.

I did say legal high but admit the laws have changed over spice now. As it happens arrests don’t happen for drug use be it illegal or not as there simply isn’t capacity. All that happens is any illegal possessions they have are confiscated and destroyed.

It isn't just the taking of the spice and other drugs its the culture it brings. Shoplifting, antisocial behaviour, harassing for money, muggings, burglary and even murder. The old people that have been attacked recently is more than likely drugs related just so they can get their next fix.

We can't just allow people to ruin the country and keep saying 'but too many people are dicks so we will let some dicks get away with it'

Rick Grimes is leaving The Walking dead in the next series, so that means he will be available on Satdy afternoons. Maybe Stendel & co should hire him as the head doorman/bouncer at Oakwell. ;)

Yes there's a horrible atmosphere now, all the young druggies, glad the media have finally noticed.

Something needs to be done because everyone will go to Meadowhall instead and the town centre will die on it's arse.

The whole reason for these people being more visible is due to cuts in services. The services aren’t available to house them so unfortunately until funding changes some dicks will be getting away with it, as you so eloquently put it.

It doesn't matter if they're visible or not. Criminals are criminals. Lock them up

A central point would be its cheaper to rehabilitate and provide the shelter needed than the prison system, had the resources not been removed.

You seem to be unable to grasp a basic principle. There is nowhere to lock them up. Next

Build more prisons then. More people employed in them, building them etc. Far more worthwhile than hs2
If there was a deterrent people wouldn't just do as they please

Well there’s a far less expensive route that gives people a far better chance of overcoming there own personal battles, but different strokes and all.

Simple fact is if you have no money for a sufficient police force you don’t have money for more prisons whilst under tory austerity.

Utter ****. There's no such thing as an effective deterrent to a drug addict. Treating it as a criminal issue achieves nothing, it needs to be treated as a health issue.
