Basket case? Or of course they could pull off a master stroke and get Pep in just for the tournament....

They've failed miserably at their last two major finals, l think their golden era is now over and they'll probably return to the nation we know only for their bullfighting and straw donkey's :)

Their squad does seem to be on the old side, but they've still got some serious talent. I don't fancy them to make it past the quarters, but I think this tournament is pretty open so you never know.

I think they've done the right thing. Sounds like he's negotiated his contract behind the backs of the Spanish FA and shown a complete lack of respect for them.

Will be interesting to see who they get in!

It's a situation tailor made for Jose Morais. He might just stay around long enough for a one month competition.

What l have always thought, after the Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol etc team they have no youth coming through. It's the same with Barcelona, yet the British media creams themselves over La Masia, it's that good they have to spend over £400 million on their forward line and a couple of midfielders.

Just read on BBC that likes of Ramos (unsurprisingly) fought tooth and nail to try and keep him, so will be interesting to see how this develops! I'd imagine it puts a few Madrid players in an awkward position.

Shame they're not in our group instead of Belgium. They could be this year's France (wc 2010)!

Haha no I didn't. I got breaking news on my phone from Sky Sports before I posted. So, basically, I cheated ;)
