.......... if these bids are true - under the old ownership regime then Moore would have probably been sold by now. Are we seeing for the very first time the intent of the new owners to keep hold of players they feel can do a job for us? If this is so ........ then every Barnsley fan should be ecstatic at that news. At long long last - the revolving door has been closed.
Maybe, he's under contract for a fair while and we might be holding out for a reasonable pruce. Either way progress
Do you honestly think in the past the club accepted the first offer made for every player? Just because they've rejected two bids, doesn't mean they won't sell. I think it's a bit daft speculating on something and then making assumptions on bids we have no real idea if true or not and whether the bids were realistic or not. First bid couldve been £5 and second £10 for all you know!!
And you started a new thread because.... its not as if there was a perfectly good Moore thread you could have used
Is it always like this preseason? Every day seems to have 3 or 4 threads about the same subject, with the same people making the same points in each???
Chatting rubbish there. Can't think of any player we've ever sold by middle of June, although we probably have. Especially not a well thought of striker. Old regime wouldn't have sold Moore by now and neither would Doyle or Dennis.
You'll never be famous posting like that. A golden opportunity to start a new thread and you've missed it.
Yes - IMO Patrick Cryne didn’t understand the value of players and sold very very cheaply at the first opportunity. I always remember the Stones sale. He said he didn’t know how good he was. And yet Bobby was telling everyone through the Chronicle that there was a Rolls Royce of a player at the club called John Stones. Every player has his price - what I’m saying here is that if these reports are true then as things stand it looks promising because Moore is still here.
He's one of our fooooooking best fooooooooooking carrots. I'm glad we aren't selling him and replacing him with a fooooooooooooooooking turnip.
It depends what these 2x 6 figure bids were in comparison to what we paid. If it's lower than we paid then the new owners aren't doing anything that likely the old owners would have done. If the bids were "7 figures" I think you could have a valid point to start looking at.
I think making approx. 10 million for a player who hardly played for us is pretty decent. It's too early to say what the new owners will do in terms of player sales. I think you're jumping on something way too prematurely.
I could be. I hope not. But like I said previously - all players have a price - if a bid comes in that is higher than what the new owners value him at then he may go.
I am sane enough to understand that Championship clubs would want to cherry-pick pour best players. Selling them too soon is not a strategy which will bear fruit.
Most players are still on the beach. Doubt they’d be much movement of anyone under contract until next week at earliest.
