...that redresses the Far Right bashing headlines in from some of the media outlets regarding the Migrant situation in Europe. It also highlights what many on the European mainland see regarding disunity in the EU when it comes to difficult problems which are glossed over by some of the more pro EU media in the UK like the Guardian.

Quick solution. Stop bombing the Middle East and also stop selling arms to the likes of Saudi Arabia.

Even quicker one. Stop picking the migrant boats up a mile off the lybian coast.

There will still be a mass of migrants caused by the war zones created. They will just find another route in.

Also it’s a crazy world where you bomb places, destroy countries infrastructure, create masses of refugees, but then don’t want to take them in.

We bomb countries destroy the infrastructure and destabilise them then whinge when people want to leave them. Let’s stop and stop trading arms to terrorists. Then we can move forward.

Some will be economic but a large number are refugees.

Economic migrants is a sickening phrase. Makes the human race into something that is only worthwhile if it has a large monetary value behind it.

Some will be refugees. The vast majority are migrants.

The vast majority upwards of 75% are young physically fit males.

If they were refugees they would be seeking refuge in the first country that is deemed safe not attempting to find their way to the more affluent countries such as Germany France or the Uk.

Nor would they be burning their documents so no one knows who they are.

I have absolutley no issue with genuine refugees seeking sanctuary however paying someone to nip you out off the african coast in a zodiac to an awaiting charity boat to be shipped over isnt the way to do it.

    Its legitimised people smuggling.

Offical confirmed stats show 90% of migrants entering Italy are young males and economic migrants. That said, if your country has been ravaged by war, or is economically bankrup with no work available, from their perspective, there is often little difference. Unfortunately there is 30% unemployment aleready in the Southern part of Italy and 20% in many other regions so it is frying pan into the fire.
My OP was not about causes or solutions but just an observation as to the problem Italy has and the lack of cohesion within the EU. Up to now it has been merely 'tea and sympathy' and the hypocrisy shown by Macron and the French i.e. calling the Italians heartless and cruel when it was the french that closed THEIR border with Italy to migrants has pushed the new Italian Government to take a hard line. The EU only responds, as the article points out , when it is backed into a corner. (hint for Davis and the Brexit negotiators there!)

So by that token you do agree with bombing countries and taking in no refugees?

Imagine conditions that are so bad you may as well leave everything behind, likely die on a boat and destroy all documents relating to who you are? Never surprises me that the tabloids who bang on about foreign aid budgets are also the tabloids who bang on about immigration. Maybe were the immigrants in different conditions they wouldn’t be turning up at the border.

Not sure of your source for 90% plus but those economic migrants are the ones who can help boost the economy. Young males or females are the best migrant for boosting the economy.

Best solution to helping Italy’s economy would be to ditch the currency. The Euro is one of the biggest reasons for a failing Europe as it’s not sustainable as a one size fits all monetary tool.

As far as the migrant crisis is concerned have the numbers not dropped off massively in the last two years?

Davis and the Brexit negotiators are quite frankly a laughing stock.

I dont agree with bombing of and causing political instability in the middle east.

Never said i wouldnt accept refugees especially if its the action of the uk gov. However the onus should be on resettling and rebuilding these countries and repatriation once its safe to do.

Out of interest, on the list provided by the Beeb how many countries have the UK bombed?
