Out today for a while, a gorgeous lump of gorgeousness. Like best steak hardly any fat and don't need extra statins lol.
Buffalo is a wonderful meat and should be more popular over here, as should kangaroo. But we are a nation that prefers pork and turkey. Morrisons for fathers day are doing a one pound beef burger for three quid, if you've stomach for something that big.
How do we know that these so called Buffalo burgers aren't made out of a rats ar*se!!. Ok seriously it might sound daft but I only stick to the meats that I know I like and trust. On that subject does anybody on here like rabbit, or duck, or deer (venison) etc, they are meats I will never ever try to be honest.
Ohh yes yes whatever!!.. forget that Shenkers, how are you doing in the Bbs WC sticker album championship race, are you enjoying it ?.
Why wouldn't you trust the others if you know the source? Commercially available meat is about the last thing I'd trust! I don't ever buy supermarket meat over concerns about the way it is raised, both by way of how the animals are treated, and also what chemicals they're injected with. Therefore, if I eat meat, it is either eat wild, or stuff which I know has been ethically farmed on a small scale. They taste a shed load better than anything you'll buy in the supermarket as long as you know what you're doing as far as cooking them properly goes. I wouldn't class duck, rabbit or venison as being remotely out of the ordinary, ditto goose and pheasant. Over the last few years, I've tried: Kangaroo Ostrich Wild boar Bear Beaver Alligator Horse Goat Moose Bear and alligator were definitely the best, horse and wild boar were quite dry but made very good sausage, goat makes superb curry, but there is pretty much nothing you can do to make beaver taste nice (no pun intended!). After reading this you'd be forgiven for thinking that I spend most of my time hiding in forests setting traps, and skinning wild animals. I actually eat mostly vegetarian food, due to my refusal to consume factory farmed meat. But what I don't understand is when meat eaters refuse to eat a certain type of meat like horse or dog. As far as I'm concerned, it's all pretty similar. Though I'd definitely draw the line at eating monkey. Far too close to home for comfort.
I would need to know the source of this meat before eating it. If it is from the USA it could be full of growth hormones which are known to promote and cause Prostate Cancer as is dairy. The USA has 4 times the PC rate that we have in the UK and it's all down to the amount of dairy and red meat in their diet. In Japan and China PC is very rare because their diet is more healthy. Before I forget it get yourselves tested for PC.
I like rabbit, duck and venison. All lovely. Try duck in a chinese takeaway, easy way to get into it. Rabbit, can be a bit fiddly, but it's great in a curry or stew. Venison, good in so many different ways.
bought some myself last night as it happens....turns out they're from Scotland's biggest buffalo farm!!!
For a start I love garlic, and lets add cheese, tomato, mushrooms, onion, peppers.. and thats before we even talk about the meat!.
Doubt it. I’d been on a bus in Laos for about 10 hours sharing an old Laos womans Khat. And it was the only thing on sale when the bus pulled into the bus stop by the toothless hag vendors.
Rabbit pie is the best. A lot more flavour than other meats & totally sustainable. I try not to eat processed meat full stop, although a bit of pepperoni / salami is sometimes my undoing.
Beef and chicken are lovely. Pork sausages are, but a joint of pork is just OK. It's good to try other meats pal. Curried goat with rice and peas goes down a treat. Kangaroo is almost fat free so a good healthy burger.
