I was wondering why a guy who is said to be unemployed wasn’t starting his new job until July 1st, maybe he’s on holiday. Could he be in Russia, talent spotti

I just hope he's not watching our videos from last year as has been touted, otherwise he'll get terminally depressed and never come back.

Actually, in all seriousness, I hope he isn't. Clean slate for everyone rather than prejudices built on a million and one misplaced passes.

Stendel's probably sat at home filling in his player profile specification thingies to load up into the spready but needs a month to figure out how the **** to complete them in such a way that the answer doesn't always keep coming back with an unfit 'number 10' with an attitude issue and whose name always begins with 'M'.

Reading between the lines, when he was relieved of the head coach position at Hannover, he was paid up for the remainder of that contract. However, rather than kicking him out of the door, he was given "consultancy work" to do so that they weren't paying him for gardening leave. He was actually tied into the full two years of the contract he signed.

Employment law is different in different countries and it might be that the UK system of paying someone up and kicking them out (like Hecky at Leeds) is not legal there.

    I think exact opposite.
If he is watching recorded games from last season he will see glimpses in those games (eg Fulham) of what these players are capable of - and from that he should gain encouragement.
In no way should those players - especially with the loan players brought in - have been anywhere near the relegation zone.

First half against Fulham, until the sending off, was the best performance of the season. We actually looked like a good team. But performances like that were few and far between. We were relegated because for long periods in many games our performances were poor. Even when there were spells in games when we looked OK, there were other periods where we were a long way short.
My previous post was a joke really but I do actually think Stendel having very limited knowledge of our squad may work in the favour of some of our players. Their reputations, good or bad, don't matter, everyone starts with a clean slate and they'll be judged on how they perform for the new manager, no baggage, no previous poor performances, no relegation season, just what they give in training for the month before kick off.

He needs to watch home and away games.

Cos there was a marked difference between the two this season, compared to last.

Those who perform away from home are the ones with the necessary character - seems to me.
