Please, nobody make this a political thread, but... Saw some footage of our Italia 90 semi the other day, and there were THOUSANDS of Union Jacks being waved by the England supporters. Now, since the Jocks have become pro-Scottish/anti-British, it's George Crosses all the way. So let them keep Andy Murray and his aching ballack, our ENGLAND footballers will still come home heros.
Well losing's hard but it's better to take losing a semi final than to have to settle for waiting for joy at another team's failure. That's depressing. Having said that, some of the fan expectations I heard on the radio at the prospect of playing Croatia were the definition of hubris.
Imagine being a proper Hun nutter, you hate the English slightly less than the Irish and love our German queen. It’s really a miracle any Rangers fan can get out of bed in the morning and function.
We've got Welsh neighbours and they were cheering Croatia's goals. Ironic that half the Welsh team are English by birth
Scotland, Wales ha ha WHO are they at football? They can't even get TO the World cup finals and when Scotland do its a right laugh
Everybody picks it up these days......hang on, there's a bin just up the road....will just need to unwrap a few
Who gives a **** what others think. We’ve reached the semi- final of the World Cup. Losing late in stoppage time in a game we could (not should) have won. That is a great achievement and for my part it has rekindled an interest in the National team which was lost some years ago.
I didn't think Ian would come on gloating last night and fair play to him. Obviously some people (not on here) take it too far but he does it in a lighthearted way
Cheers mate. Deliberately did not post last night as any post be it in commiserations or delight would have upset some and ended In me getting pelters. England throughout did a very professional job of getting to the semis. Nothing flashy but workman like but ultimately it was all one step too far for that young team. So now it's back normality and club business which starts at Tannadice on Saturday for me with a home game v Arbroath.
