He missed one chance! Granted it’s the type he usually scores but got fk all service for the rest of the game
The commentators said goal kick but the goalie restarted play near the penalty spot so yes , that's what they called. He was level though.
Thought he was greedy thinking of the Golden Boot when he should have squared it for pretty much a tap in.
Well it shouldn’t have been a goal kick as it hit the keeper before the post but I’m sure the VR gave it he looked level but maybe was an inch or so off
The commentator said it went out for goal kick. But he was level if he scores it goes to VAR and the goal stands.
I'm convinced Kane has been carrying an injury since extra time in the Colombia game. He hasn't looked anywhere near as mobile.
He was just forced very very deep, which was all very well with someone of Sterling's pace to take advantage of the gap which developed. But once Rashford came on, we looked incredibly disjointed up front, with two big strikers not remotely close enough to each other to actually do anything together.
I thought he looked lethargic and a yard off the pace and therefor not up to the fantastic standards he’s set himself. He should be very proud of the last months work though.
Gary Neville said he would be surprised if it didn't come to light that he was carrying a slight injury as he didn't look as mobile. To be honest though, the message from the first couple of games was stop Kane and you go a long way to stopping England. Colombia took that to heart and kicked him all over the field. I'm quite certain that he will have given whatever he was able to give in the circumstances last night.
The team punched above their weight and done well, the lack of quality and vision was shown up against the better teams . Set pieces long kick outs and a bit of pace was what was on offer and a lot of heart
While you're right that doesn't tell the whole story. Within the context of the relative experience of the two teams, it was Croatia's superior game management and nous which saw them home. Plus I think that this England side is only one creative midfielder away from being a major force.
