If we'd scored a second when we were on top last night we'd probably have won. We conceded the winner in a tight period of extra time. We were under the cosh second half. We're a decent side but have glaring deficiencies. I don't think you can argue that we outperformed Germany, Brazil, Argentina etc. Yes we progressed further but we didn't play them and we were delighted because we didn't HAVE to play them. Can anyone truly say we're better than Brazil? I'm not being negative, just realistic. We've made a step along the way to redemption. The next two years have to see further progress. And we need a quality midfielder desperately.
Maybe. He seemed to be doing well but I don't watch the Premier League so lose track. Isn't he more of a Alli, Lingard style player than say a Modric?
You may be right about Southgates first 45mins play to your strengths long ball fast runners and set pieces, but second half wasn’t so well thought out either in shape or selection ,class told in the end
