Wait, so teams make it out of each "league?" So essentially it will be a good team and a proper **** team in the final? Whats the point of that
I think it's quite a good idea. It gets rid of pointless friendlies that become a farce with endless substitutions, adds a competitive edge to every game and,as I remember, gives an incentive to the smaller nations in terms of qualifying for major tournaments. Got an open mind on it anyway.
It actually looks like an excellent idea. International friendlies are like watching paint dry, and England rarely play other decent nations in qualifying for major tournaments because of the seeding system. Playing reasonably competitive matches against Spain and Croatia has got to be hugely preferable to friendlies against Ecuador or Cameroon, decimated by nine subs at half time.
So instead of playoffs between group runners up it comes down to where you are in the nation's league ?
