Who do you report litter louts to?

Went to MacDonalds in Ponty today the place is always rammed so our lass goes in and we eat it in a big retail car park next door.

We've seen so many people do the same but just sling their rubbish on the floor and drive off.

If I thought it would make a difference I'd sit and film the buggers but who enforces this type of thing?

I hate littering. It's just so easy to take it home and put it in the dustbin.

Unfortunately the only people that get caught littering are those who drop *** ends in town centres (and they should get done).

I've told people off for dropping stuff down the canal at Elsecar (where we live) and it gets either ignored or abuse thrown back. When the missus was healthy we used to walk the section from Wath Road to the Elephant 3 times a week and collect a black sack full every time. Does my head in as so often it's unnecessary (just leave it in the footwell and stick it in the bin at home). .....

    ....AAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

I once had someone in my car who did that. We stopped at services and got some snap and he wound window down and chucked all the wrappers out going up the motorway.

I couldn't believe it and thought if he doesn't already know that's not the thing to do there's probably no point telling him.

    ALSO.......

Someone is picking up their dogs cr@p in the little black bags and leaving it next to the gate at the start of the section heading to the Heritage....3 bags there now....50 yards to the bin....if you can't be bothered then leave it to the elements rather than wrap it up in a non decomposing bag and leave it for all to see (or decorate a tree with it )......I feel better now ;)

Seeing the amount of litter really does hammer home the sheer number of disgusting tramps that inhabit this earth. Littering is for scum.

It's a bit awkward when it's a mate. He drives himself now and I wonder if he does the same from his own car.

I once stopped my car in Wakefield at 2am because a mate in the back threw a can out of the window. I told him to go and pick it up - he refused. His wife was sitting next to him and she had a right go, to no avail. His attitude was "I pay my council tax, so someone should come and pick it up".

I took her home but left him by the side of the road in Wakey. Taxi cost him a fortune.

The irony is these people will tell you with a straight face they love their country. I love this idea of bringing corporal and community punishment back. People who litter should be stocked and the community have the chance to throw things at them. I realise I might be at the extreme but they basically should be treated like terrorists.

I was in tarn a few days ago and saw 2 environmental officers talking to the driver of a car parked at the back door of Bramahs. He was obviously annoyed and eventually drove off aggressively.

I asked the officers what it was all about - they'd fined the bloke £100 for chucking a crisp packet out of the window. Excellent result!

Would be classed as littering even if you intended to pick it up ;)

Driving today and the bloke in front tossed an empty red bull can out of his window. Bounced up in the road and hit front of my car as I followed behind. I had steam coming out of my ears. Sometimes I really really wish I was a copper in an unmarked car.

They should get the Kingdom company Kirklees Council here hire to hand on the spot fines to people dropping fags on the floor.....

    www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/kirklees-council-review-contract-controversial-14488716.amp

Great scheme for making money and if people get caught they know better for the next time. Only downside is its easy for them to get the likes of the elderly during the day for dropping a little tab end, but they would never work a Wednesday (student night), Friday or Saturday evening and do the same to folks who are much worse littering with pizza boxes and kebab/burger containers, as well as cans and bottles.

It is the new culture, just drop it.
Notice how much litter is strewn in hedgerows, roadsides, all over the place in Barnsley
It builds up where the water flows take it.
    Barnsley Council just ignore it
We know it should not be dropped but they have to start clearing it more often, but the wont

The one thing i do object to though is these environmental officers praying on little old ladies walking out of Morrison's who accidentally drop a receipt whilst rummaging around their handbag for their car keys. But in the middle of town the alcoholics walking around with cans who then chuck them on the floor or in bushes don't get ticketed because they obviously wouldn't get nothing from them.
