Didn't realise Ashley Ward nearly signed for Barnsley again from Bradfrord City and even had a medical (or maybe i did and I've forgotten in my old age :D )

That Huddersfield game was bonkers, that lineup would have dismantled any team in the country...

I really can't understand why he never came back. Must have been something "undisclosed" that we will never know about.

Patrick Cryne offered to buy Ward so long as John Dennis permitted Cryne a stake in the club. Dennis refused. That is what I seem to remember, anyway.

All I remember is that he was waiting for a pay off from City (loyalty bonus ? ) .
Don't know why it fizzled out after that .
The game itself BFC were winning 3-1 and looking like it could end up 4 or 5 when Ward came on and changed the game .
    Ended 3-3 .

Correction : He started the game but scored two goals in the last ten minutes .
The shock is still evident as me memory thinks he was a sub .

I thought Dave Bassett was refused a stake in the club? But my memory is a little hazy

Lovely interview with Ash, despite his wealth, talent and obvious good looks,he has always been a really good bloke and easy to be around. His Parents did a really good job.

Yeah. That was an awesome team - it would have smacked anyone had it stayed together.

It had enough fire-power for 2 clubs, let alone just ours.
