wanted by Bresia according to Nixon of the Sun.

English clubs wanted him too but put off by Barnsley’s asking price of £3m.

I’m not sure we should sell, even at £3m. Jackson is a suitable replacement but after that we don’t have any young CBs ready to step in. Couple of injuries could really upset the season if we left ourselves light.

Thought he was excellent yesterday alongside Pinnock.

Brescia finished 16th in Serie B last season which I guess must have been a disappointment. I'm not really sure how Serie B compares with the Championship for wages, but the city itself looks beautiful. If I were him I'd definitely be interested. Who wouldn't be?

We can get a replacement (loan made permenant in January). But it would be a fairly major disruption right now.

    Definitely wouldn’t sell.

I agree that we have 3 good centre backs but he’s the best of the 3 in my opinion.

We don't sell key players and we wouldn't be able to buy a replacement for four months. Can't see it happening even at three million, as we aren't hard up for the money.

Think there has been a marked change at the club, there were a lot of clubs supposedly interested in plundering our squad when the window opened, but then it went really quiet.Looks as though they suddenly found out we weren't an easy touch any more.

Three million. Not bad for someone who was bound to be rubbish cos he was from Scotland!
I've been to Brescia, it's lovely, there must be a temptation there. Equally he must see good career opportunities with us now or via us to the upper reaches of the english leagues.
Three million is going to be tempting and I think Jackson can fill the gap. That said I'd like us to keep him.

Jackson is one of the few players we have who is Championship quality in my eyes. He was brilliant at times last season and we missed him when he wasn't fit.

We have a replacement for Lindsay but would lack centre half options so somebody would have to come in anyways. Hope we keep him anyways as he's top class at this level and will be playing top Championship football in years to come.

Sorry but how is it tempting for Liam Lindsay to uproot himself and any family, to move to a country where he doesn't speak the language. Then play a style of football he is unfamiliar with,at a club who are way past there best.
This is a strange thread, Brescia are unlikely to spend 4 million Euros on a 3rd division player, with no top flight experience.
The English transfer window is closed,so where would a replacement come from? The Club have rightly been praised for recruitment and retention, why would they go mad and sell a integral part of the team just after the season has started?
    Again, a bizarre thread.

Best player in the league. Jackson isn't upto the task of replacing him. No deal.

You could argue that he did this last season ;)

I think all 3 of our centre backs are very similar in terms of quality and would be happy with any 2 of 3 in any of our games. Jackson is very much up to the task of replacing him or Pinnock if called upon

It's really good to know that we are resisting approaches to take our best players on the cheap. Peterborough have set the standard with the amount they demand for their League One players and it is good to think that we are following suit. The squad looks to have stabilized and to be behind the new coaching team. So encouraging.

Think we'll have to disagree. Lindsay spent half of last season covering for Jacksons inability to play at that level which in turn hindered his own game and made Jackson look half decent.

I thought Lindsay started very well but faded with Jackson looking the better of the 2 towards the end of the season. Either way, for me, all 3 are easily good enough for this level

This game is all about opinions though!

Agree with you about Jackson. He was unlucky with injuries otherwise he would have been in the running for POTY. We have 3 good centre backs.

Total ****** story, let's not give it any more air.

Nixon has **** all to do now the window's shut and I can only think of spurious/bitter motives as to why he's trotted this sh!te out:-

    1) Partick Thistle fan Nixon is still bruised that we bought their then best player.
    2) Whilst in the past he's had rich pickings for his job from speculation surrounding BFC players in and out Nixon's getting **** all now - he hasn't even been any where near to any of our incomings until they've almost been on the pitch with the new kit on and any outgoing rumours have been scotched by the new owners' approach to keeping key pieces.
    3) Lindsay's name is on a list that Hecky gave to Cellino at Leeds and he's got hold of it and put 2 and 2 together with the crook now being at Brescia.
    4) Darragh MacAnthony is being JK Rowling again.

As if we'd declare a policy of keeping the squad together and then sell one of the best members of it!
