Davies clean sheet against Bradford was his 49th leaving him closing in on the top 6 all time clean sheet keepers. Any ideas who the 6 are?
I know Baker is on the list ( the only one to get to 50 quicker as well) but no idea of the rest. I’d presume Watson but we did let loads in those days maybe Pierce??
"Baker give us a wave Baker baker give us wave Whohaaay Nice one baker Nice one son Nice one baker let's have another one Whohaaay We are the baker fan club" .....sithi.
30% clean sheets for Watson when that include a season in the Premier League is absolutely incredible. Would have been England's number one for years if it wasn't for the injury. The only keeper I've ever seen who you'd back in a 1 on 1 every time.
Nicky Colgan was good 1 v 1 too. Always stood his ground. On the flipside, although he was like superman, Heinz Muller was useless with them.
Thought exactly the same. That someone has gone to the trouble fills me with a sense of enormous well being. I could look at it forever. One of my earliest memories as a very young kid was Gerry Stewart coming to the wall on the South Terrace, where we used to stand near the old tunnel, before the match and speaking to my dad who used to teach him German at the old tech. I couldn’t have been more impressed.
Agree Recall us playing Swindon, Martin Ling roamed through and had an age to decide what to do. Watty stood there, letting Ling over think it, then at the last rushed and pressured him and made what looked an easy save. Brilliant decision making for such a young kid at the time. Not only think many games were in the Prem, even in the Championship we weren't exactly defensively solid being so gung ho. Fantastic keeper.
