They've given tickets away to season ticket holders and just a fiver for everyone else. Have we announced ticket prices against Premier league children sides yet?
Even if they paid me to go, I'd refuse it on principle. I'm so gutted to miss a home game but the Checkatrade in its current format needs to die.
No it’s not your not real football fans under 21 players have to get games some where so why not go and watch them there is a lot of good 21 one years playing these days
It's not our under 21s. It's theirs. Attitudes like this are why the powers that be take the piss out of supporters.
You realise it's Barnsley first team being forced to play against kids because the Premier league asked the league to make them right?
^ this. With knobs on. The same reason that teams like Wednesday get away with charging nearly 50 quid to watch a second tier game. Because there are enough people who can't name a price they wouldn't pay to watch their team. It wouldn't happen in Germany because they would just refuse to pay it.
Ridiculous that we have to play under 21 sides but if we make too many changes and play our own young players we are fined. Was it Luton who made 11 changes last season and we're fined even though they won the game? Michy Batshuayi who cost about 30 million was fielded by Chelsea u21s last season. Leciester fielded the 31-year-old Leonardo Ulloa against Scunthorpe. Stoke played a 35 year old Peter Crouch too as i recall. The future of English football, brilliant.
Get over yourself. Fans from all over the country are boycotting this abomination of a competition on principle and you say they're not real fans.
I’m not a real football fan because I don’t want to offer my support to a competition that forces us to play near enough our first team squad against a set of youngsters from a premier team? It’s basically a p**s take now, do as we say or you’ll face the consequences. The tournament used to be an incentive for the lower league teams to go to Wembley and win a trophy, now it’s ridiculed and lower league teams in the majority can’t be arsed with it. This is the same lad that said a lot of us are like Leeds and weds fans the other day as well, starting to see a pattern here..
Fans all over the country are boycotting a lot of football matches these days not only the EFL Trophy
Is there a petition floating around to get and end to this competition? and replace it with what it used to be? Im sure 100,000s of fans would sign it.
Today they infest the Tinpot Trophy. Tomorrow we're playing Chelsea B in League One. We HAVE to make a stand against the Greed League and its insidious creeping takeover of OUR competitions for THEIR gain.
I know fans that no longer go for various reasons but this is very different to boycotting games. When fans boycott games involving their own club it is usually because a line has been crossed and it is the only option they believe they have to get their voices heard. You go to the games, nobody is saying you have to stay away but don't try and play the better fan card because it has no value, especially amongst fans who have being going to games week in, week out for decades.
