I may be wrong but think Darfield Red's source is one that prob can't be revealed. Usually spot on though.

A massive blow let’s not kid ourselves. Shows up some flaws in the recruitment process with one injury meaning we go into a vital period without an experienced forward.

To be fair , its two injuries, because Woodrow is injured as well , what it does show is that we could have done with at least one if not two more strikers

Don’t think it’s our recruitment process just a lack of players for that position. Let’s just hope it doesn’t cost us too many points.

There were plenty of people saying this during the window.
Let's hope the club were right not to invest and we were wrong!

Big loss but I'm confident Brown can step up and think he offers more intelligent movement than Moore, which may help us break down some of the teams who try to "park the bus". Hopefully Woodrow can be introduced into the team by Charlton too. Be reyt. Much more concerned anout the lack of cover for Dougall if anything happens.

That's a disaster. I was hoping we could just bluff our way through one or two games without him.

Brown played really well running the channels on saturday. He suits that style, just wondering if his inexperience will affect his ability to adapt to other types of matches. Hope he proves me wrong. I really like young Jacob

There cannot be many in this league with more intelligent movement than Moore , thats why he gets on the end of so many chances , he may miss a lot, but he gets on the end of things & you dont do that without movement.

Im not saying Moore has poor movement but think Brown looks sharper and more willing to get in behind. Overall, Moore is the better player but think Brown will do just fine.

Not saying you are wrong but can you give me one or two names of any strikers that would be any good and sit on our bench hopping and praying that Moore and Woodrow would get injured,?

Perhaps it won't be a massive blow missing Moore.

He might shoot instead of passing. And the other way around.

The way Brown shifted it on to his right foot for the final goal will have given him belief that he's got a top league career.

    That finish was sweet.

I do not know apart from Chaplin who the club were interested in , they tend to keep their cards close to their chests with targets as when we signed Woodrow but I would have thought that they would be competing for a place on the training ground & no way would a professional hope & pray that a colleague gets injured . My personal choice"s do not come into it but if I was to pick one who has caught my eye this season, it would be Eves from Gillingham

Ok that’s fair - shame that. He’ll be badly missed, hope the wheels don’t come off.

Always said that, where we finish the season will depend on that length of time our key players are fit and playing...

If I was the club I’d want to keep news about his injury completely under wraps.

Vert difficult for an opposition manager to set up a team not knowing whether you’re going to be facing Moore or Brown up front.

I might be a “hopeful he’ll be fit for the weekend”, but he turns out not to be.

Its a miss, but its rare a striker makes it through a full season without missing a few games. It may not be as big a miss as we think, though against Luton, we're now looking less strong with Davies, Pinillos, Dougall and Moore all missing. But if you look at Peterborough, Williams and Brown did really well.

There's something about Brown, and the more he plays, the better he'll become. A great opportunity for him to stake a claim.

The other thing about Moore, there's always a temptation to hoof with him in. With more pace up top, it gives us the option of playing over the top rather than to feet, and that could be more effective. I also think our midfield were superb on Saturday, closing, passing, keeping possession. That's the sort of football I want to see us play, not a hoof to a big lad and feed off the scraps. It may be a blessing to help us groove a more passing style, and that may even help us open up teams that try and deny us and commit to defence.

I do not disagree with what you say but I think there is still times in a game where the " hoof " is required , clearing lines etc when under pressure for example & you need someone to compete for that hoof such as Moore . At Fleetwood , Moore competed for a ball with two defensive lumps in the air , won the the ball & went on to slot it home , less physical players would not have been able to do that, but basically what I am saying is that you need to mix it up & Moore covers all options & will be missed.

He did manage to do that. But I think we've been at our most ineffective when we've resorted to that tactic. With Bahre, Moncur, Dougall, Mowatt and probably Hedges too, we've suddenly got a good number of players who can pass the ball, are technically good and given confidence and learning over time, I reckon we might just be able to pass teams to death, but have that high intensity closing down to our game too.

Don't get me wrong, I like Moore, I just don't enjoy watching the over reliant hoof that goes with it.
