If you are who I think you are, you lived at no 49 and I was at no 60 I was in Strafford house and you were in Priesley if I'm correct. JP
I worked it out my friend JP & you are spot on , hope you are good & incidentally Priestley were always top dogs !
I'm very well buddy, hope you are too. I was trying to remember my first away matches from that time and I think I remember visiting Bradford P.A.. Lincoln City and Donny where we bounced RW's mini in the car park (field) to get out. Happy, carefree days. Take care buddy
I remember going to Bradford P.A for an evening match & being on the wrong end of a 7 v 2 thrashing , I think either Kevin Hector or Bobby Ham rattled about 4 or 5 goals in that night , not sure if you made this trip but as you say , happy days !
I also thought it was a mid week match we went to, and I thought it was the 7-2 walloping we got when Kevin Hector got 5 but according to my Definitive Barnsley FC book that was on Saturday 20 November 1965. The following two seasons we won 3-1 on 15 Feb 67 (Wednesday) and drew 1-1 on 04 Sept 1967 (Monday), the Bradford PA dropped through the trapdoor to non-league football. Must admit I can't remember which match it was.
My memory is that it was a midweek game & Hector scored 5, because I seem to remember us going on a coach from the Strafford arms on market street, more or less straight from school , but it was the start of winter, & dark nights beginning might be confusing me. Wev"e slept a couple of times since then !
