Was it me or did their montage introducing Hecky mistakenly feature several shots of Devaney? I thought he was going to be the guest at first
took him all of 30 seconds to get a dig in about 'keeping the squad together'. i'll turn it back on when the match kicks off
I’m sure he’s regretting his decision to leave from a football point of view but the financial cushion will help. He’s still a young manager but finds himself frozen out. His fault, yes, but it’s still a shame.
I think he made the right decision still has a Cup win and a promotion on his CV and no relegation. Stay with us he MAY have had a relegation so harder to get a job. Think he will have had job offers but he has the luxury of waiting for the “right” job due to his pay off. My only gripe with him is his sheer reluctance to admit some of our issues he was part of fed up of him blaming everyone but himself. And the fact he went to fin leeds
No he wasn't. Just said it needed to be used in conjunction with getting to know a player's personality and actually watching them play.
He had a dig mate “always been that way at Barnsley. Maybe use it more now” couple that with when he was saying it needs to be used with weeks of scouting Was a dig mate
You could check the Sky Sports schedule. Highly unlikely though. It's League One, and it's Barnsley. They didn't even do the usual after match segment and a quick look at the highlights before the credits roll. Bizarrely they couldn't wait to get that properly big attraction Slovakia V Czech Republic on. I mean........why??
Which club doesn’t. ? How many teams let a player run his contract down. ( due to Bosman) Take Ronaldo/Messi for example.
Just watched it today having recorded it. Didn't come across as a dig to me anyway. Though he spoke positively about us. The always been that way maybe more so now line, I thought was more to do with the common misconception in the media that we have only used data analysis since Billy Beane became involved rather the reverse being true.
We nearly always sell regardless of players been in their last year of contracts. Stones had 2 & a half years, Mawson 2 left. There’s probably others but I’m hungover & cant think straight. People just look for any excuse to have a dig at Heckingbottom. He’s just been honest & stating what most people think, we’ve got a great chance of going straight back up but need to keep the squad together, the last thing we needs is Moore, Potts, Lindsay or anyone else been flogged in January
All clubs sell, agree with that. But when someone such as Liverpool sell one of their players to a "bigger" team, they tend to reinvest and bring in someone to fill their boots. We don't... over recent years we have banked an awful lot of the funds and then go again on the development front. That strategy isn't going to see us to success anytime soon IMO as it takes time and sends us back a few steps each time. I hope from hereon in things start to change and we can build on the team we have and the fantastic start we have made to this season.
