Very pleased that we've managed to beat them missing three key players. Not pretty in the second half, but a very good performance under the circumstances.
Just about to post the same - good side. Fear they may lose their manager to Brentford which would be a shame. We played well - midfield looked great first half - fantastic unit - impressed with Moncur, Potts and Mcgheehan! Latter looks like he's finding his feet at last
Yes totally agree good side, good game, the game was played in difficult conditions and both teams were value for money. Wunt get that entertainment anywhere else for a tenner. C O Y R. I bet it would av bin even better wi'art the blustery gales.
Totally agree. Winning games like that largely get you promoted. I hope we will be. A long way to go, but a convincing slaughter vs Peterbrough & a narrow, but still a good win vs Luton, who in my opinion are a team that will be in the mix up at the season end is OK. COYR
There's only us seem to have noticed the key players bit, Luton fans and Sky seem to have glossed over that bit!
One of the better sides I’ve seen at oakwell this season but we still limited them to very few chances from open play. We created far more and I think the result flattered them and by that I mean that our pressing style limited them all game The two goals were fortunate in my opinion
Agreed can see them being easily in the top 10 probably pushing for the top 6 if they play like that all season
I thought they were the best side we’ve played at home. Just edging out Walsall as we should’ve put the game to bed before they equalised. Considering the players we were missing, today was a good performance and a great result. Keep it going reds!
I thought they were average at best. No one stood out as being someone I'd hope we'd sign. Our goals were all excellent and theirs were a penalty given away out of inexperience and a cross that happened to hit the post and fall to their forward. https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/11525064/barnsley-3-2-luton
Luton were set up very well played short balls out from the back let us push up then played it long. We sat off them more 2nd half to stop this and this is why we didn't look as good. Great win.
Thought Luton were poor. We were missing key players and we gifted them two goals to make it look more of a game than it should have. Think we were pretty much in control the whole game.
Good team I thought. Well drilled and inventive up front. They just couldn’t live with our midfield first half.
To give Luton credit they did come to play rather than just trying to stop us from playing. Think they will have a solid season if they can hold onto their manager
I was also impressed with Luton. Good job the assistant referee was on the ball with the offsides, as we could have been in real trouble on a couple of occasions. Puzzled as to how Moncur got MOM. He was excellent in the first half, but was pretty anonymous in the second period. Lindsay played well, as did Pinnock. Apart from a lapse in concentration in the 63 rd minute when his pass went astray, it was a toss up between him and Potts as to who was the best player for us, in my opinion.
I thought they were okay but jeez, what a bunch of fairies! They made last year's Fulham team seem like amateurs at the play-acting, rolling round and falling on the floor stuff if one of our lads so much as breathed near them. Great to think we beat them relatively easily whilst not being at our best and with six changes from the team that we started the season with.
