What did Heckingbottom say about Thiam before the match? Missed it. Something on the lines of “he’s got a powerful shot on him in both legs?”.
With a bit of luck someone will watch his highlights DVD and make a daft bid in January. I wanted to like him, but his passing and general play is truly awful.
He is VERY hit and miss. His goal was an incredible strike but the rest of his cameo was very poor. I suppose his goal won us the game though so I’ll cut him some slack. If he gets some consistency he could be some player but I’m not sure he ever will.
No inbetween with thiam either great or terrible that strike was class though and with 4 goals and 1 assist so far I'm glad he is our player.
I'm not sure he even looked at the goal or where he was shooting. He just decided to hit it very, very hard in the general direction of the goal. Happily it hit the top corner. He already seems to want to shoot whenever he is anywhere near the goal, so after that we can certainly expect more of the same I'd say.
Yeah I'm sure it was just a fluke all 4 goals this season and one assist same get Dale Jennings back I'm sure he would fluke a few curlers into top bin.....
It was a fantastic strike. I wouldn't put him in the first 11 in anticipation of him doing summat like that again though. His first touch is not good. Owt could happen when he gets the ball. Often nowt does. He chased like a terrier for a while when he came on. I bet Stendel has a job selling Thiam the pressing game though.
I agree with moat of that he wouldn't be in my 1st 11 at the minute his 1st touch isn't bad imo it's his final ball and decision making what let's him down for me. He scored a worldie and then a simple ball he puts it out for a throw when we were attacking. Great option to have from the bench at this level though.
Firstly, he’s playing as a left winger. So 4 goals so far is ok. Some of his passing his wayward - but he knows it himself, just watch his face. He works hard, and wins many headers against bigger guys - can hold the ball up well. I like him - he’s honest and works hard in training. Not his fault we paid €1m for him. He’s a confidence player without doubt - and rather than folk moan if he hits it and goes wide, applause him for the effort as that’s his trademark.
I’d play him b4 Jacob. (Not knocking lad just don’t think he’s ready to lead the line yet) as for ball control. Best at club. Opinions eh.
