Poor losers. They've been on a decent run, mostly at home, and are disappointed that they weren't good enough, as their own manager stated in his post match interview. Clutching at straws blaming the officials and disallowed goal for them not getting at least a draw. If they think that performance warranted the points then we're at polar opposites in terms of expectation. If we had gone away, huffed and puffed, only forced one save, scored a penalty and an absolute fluke, and the opposition had scored 3 cracking goals, I'd have to hold up my hands and say we deserved nowt. There's a massive difference in "we could have sneaked a draw" and " we should have won", and even the former is fanciful. They should file it under "made a game of it" and be satisfied because Peterborough didn't manage that last week.
They are right to in a way. Dodgy offside decisions at key points in the game. That said I think the referee was told at half time because he gave them everything in the second half
Easy to say. They got robbed a couple of dodgy decisions their first goal that got ruled out wasn’t even offside, then not long after in a decent position and got ruled offside when their player wasn’t. Can understand them being pissed off. We would be too if roles reversed.
We gifted them a needles pen and it didn't spur them on. I thought they were workmanlike and slowed us down second half but we had too much for them and we never really got into our stride.
I don't think that's even remotely true. They had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside and and player dragged down in the box. If we'd had that against us we'd be very disgruntled. We were the better team, but they played OK and can justifiably feel aggrieved at a couple of major decisions that went against them.
We had a couple of handball penalty shouts in the first half. McGeehan headed against the post, Potts almost connected with a header with the goal gaping, Moncur shot straight at the keeper and curled one around the post, Brown well placed to shoot but held on too long. I agree with their manager. We were too good for them.
But some of them are saying they were the better team and should have had a draw at least. Now that's not remotely true.
Not sure I didn't get a clear view of the 1st but bloke at side of me thought it was clear I thought the 2nd was a pen though.
We've just won 7-2 against two good sides, yet Barnsley fans are more intent on finding fault in our performance than actually celebrating our success. Bizarre.
I was saying we should of had at least one pen and asking what other people thought. Not knocking the performance.
Their manager said we were the better team (on Sky) yet some Barnsley fans are still intent on perpetuating the myth that we were poor. Odd.
