The overuse of plastic does my head in, like it does many others I'm sure.

I've just been to have a look round the new market, and there's great little stall called Weigh to Save, where you can take your own containers and fill them with lots of different stuff, including nuts, cereals, fruit, pulses etc. 5% off if you bring your own containers. I promised the bloke I'd give him a plug, so here it is. 20181107_111603-1008x756.jpg 20181107_111615-1008x756.jpg

There's a stall nearby selling Barnsley chops loose too. Take your own wheelbarrow.

Didn't see any tripe, but I was very disappointed that there was no octopus on sale in the fish market. I do like a nibble on my tentacles from time to time.

Think the original stall wasn't moving into the new market. But read one of the other traders was going to take on the produce.

Used to love the ‘weighing up shop’ as a kid. They did some cracking muesli and sold really cheap sweets.

One of the stalls took it over as the original one packed in when old market went however they say there’s no demand and bloke that brings it from Newark says it’s not worth his while with current sales.
I can’t believe that Barnsley hasn’t got enough tripe lovers to keep it going . Maybe if they’d kept it going while market established they may have got enough custom.
Having said all that they’ll know their stuff so tripe is not as popular as I must have thought it was . Shame really

Ok, but shouldn't that stall also uphold the less is good mindset on plastics lol.. Everything stored in plastic containers, with plastic bags and plastic bins, with the plastic scoops to compliment...

Personally I don't think there's anything wrong with plastic in itself - it's throwing it away while it's still usable that's the problem.
