Pub Quizzes are just full of cheating gets nowadays. Hence why I go to the Eastfield Arms on a Thursday. They use an app called ‘Speed quizzing’ which you download on to your smart phone. 15 seconds to answer the question. Once you’ve answered you can’t change it neither do you get chance to google it.

All well and good but this excludes any quizzers who aren’t Smart phone savvy, or not quick enough to respond in time

Good to know this is happening. I used to go to a good one in Headingley but there was always the sneaky suspicion that people would check their phones in the toilet, and it was only goodwill and knowing many of the other quizzers that kept it going. That is one downside to information instantly at your fingertips!

It definitely happens. There are 2 pub quizzes in boozers near my house - one is a smartphone speed quiz and the other one is traditional pen and paper. Our team regularly wins the speed quiz but we hardly ever win the other one (and don't bother going any more!)
