    Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday had one flag on show at the front of their fans.
    Guess what it said ?

Mr Abramovich... know what you're up against. Watching highlights of Barnsley vs Southend and do you know what one flag said...

The last time I saw it it was hung from the back of a caravan in the middle of a local football pitch

    Ok
Seems that people on here believe there’s no born and bred Barnsley people with no connection to Sheffield that watch Wednesday.
    Ive got it wrong.

I live in Hoyland Common , which is part of the Barnsley area , but its as close to Hillsboro as Oakwell , so there are plenty of Wednesday fans in the village & therefore a Barnsley owls flag could come from our area , its annoying & I despise the Owls, but the geography of the situation ,makes the split of the fans understandable , no big deal.

As annoying as it is, you won't stop people from Barnsley watching other clubs.

You give me "Barnsley Owls" and I'll give you just as many people that watch the reds that aren't from Barnsley. I'm one of em.

    Well have you got figures?

Loads of reds fans from West Yorkshire and beyond. I know 2 lads that travel from Hull. 1 from Norwich. None born in Barnsley.

You've seen a fecking flag and every lovely person in Barnsley watches Wednesday. Have you considered that the barnsley Owls might be from Sheffield and live in Barnsley?

    Dear me.

Do you actually visit Barnsley other than match days?
If yer don’t - then have a walk through town - and keep yer eyes open.
    Then go to Wombwell.
Then go to Cortonwood on the Rotherham and Barnsley border.
    Jeez,

What am I going to see at Wombwell? Wednesdays club shop or Leeds statue of Charlie Drake?

If you mean seeing dee-dar shirts, there isn't many on show. The majority of people I see in the areas you mention wear Barnsley shirts.
