our reserves would have got a pasting,,a 5 or 6 goal defeat would have done the clubs confidence no good at all,the premier league champions don't have young lads at the club, that are not great prospects in the making

Still don't understand why Woodrow couldn't play 3 games last week but this week looks like he will? Unless he's not playing Saturday.

Maybe because it will have been another week since his injury. I presume he won’t never play 3 games in a week again just because he didn’t once before. We’ll be building his game time up.

I know I thought that but it's only 3 days extra rest from the Saturday of the Donny game to the Tuesday of the Sunderland game. He has then played 3 games in the following 7 days up to last night.
Just seems odd, the mistake was not playing him against Donny but it's gone now so hopefully Stendal will learn from that we underestimated Donny and it cost us, compounded by losing at Sunderland anyway.

I was surprised to see Woodrow in the team but, for me, he was less effective without Moore to feed off/play alongside. He could and should have bagged a couple of goals though and he did put himself about a lot, but I want to see him in the penalty box everytime we go forward because he is a proper poacher.

Shame he opted for the "hit it hard and low" approach with his penalty because that always gives the keeper a 50/50 chance of stopping it. If he had just lofted it into the top area of the goal (even five or six feet higher) it would have been 4-2 and we might have gone on to win it.
