"I'm not here to convince anyone of anything. My concern, which could be wrong, is that the club loses its soul and ethos"

That was lost after administration. Hecky's promotion season does not wipe the memory of earlier seasons from my mind. Roll on the new era, for good, bad or indifferent.

Quite a few members of my immediate family migrated South to Poole/ Bournemouth to escape the pits and heavy industry
in the North a number of years ago and like quite a number of Northerners down there have retained a keen interest in football
from the time they supported Northern Clubs like Doncaster Rovers.

Prior to AFC Bournemouth getting into the Premiership, quite a few ( my cousin included) supported Southampton just
to be able to watch top flight football. Along with one cousin who was a ST holder at Chelsea with her husband who also played for the Club and another who supported West Ham, they have all now got ST's at the Vitality Stadium.

So you're right Redstar it's not a hot bed for football, but like us it's got a very loyal fan base that stick with them through
thick or thin. The number one sport in the area is of course Speedway. When I'm down there in the Summer I go along with them to cheer on the Poole Pirates who are a successful team in the Elite League.

Let this game against Aston Villa speak for all of us who wholeheartedly want the takeover to happen. We don't care if it makes us like other teams, other teams win games more than we do that's just a fact.

I doubt beane would be abe to offer anything more than we have already anyway. It was Paul DePodesta who was the brains behind the system and bringing in the players. Beane was just the general manager who took the risk to go with using data to sign players.

Article in the Chronicle infers it will be the end of this month before the takeover goes through.
Hope so. That gives Hecky time to identify who he needs in the January window and hopefully
the new owners will support him.

10, 461 attendance at home to Manchester City earlier this season, nearly 3 thou from city. Bournemouth don't deserve premier league footy with a ***** turn-out like that imho.

Well they're obviously not bothered about it are they? Even Wigan pulled 8 thousand more than that and they're rugby league through and through. It's embarrassing if you ask me. But that's just my opinion as you have yours. Let's agree to disagree

Isn't that a sell out at Bournemouth though and they are building a new ground in the future? And like already said it's not a attendance competition.

Their stadium doesn't hold many more. Isn't it 12k capacity?

As Hykeham Tyke rightly says, the official capacity is 11,360. Part of the problem ( cousin tells me)
is that the people of Bournemouth don't feel any affiliation to the Club as it's actually located in Boscombe
which is 2 miles out of the main Town of Bournemouth. In fact before its change to AFC Bournemouth the
Club was known as Bournemouth and Boscombe FC.
There are a large number of people in the area who have migrated from other parts of the Country and
so many of those who are interested in football support other teams from their own Towns or Cities. Residents of Poole which is a town in it's own right is 8 miles from Boscombe have their own non league Club in Poole Town and as previously said,
also support a very successful Elite League Speedway team Poole Pirates.

Asking a lot to grow a club like that. They've spent majority of their history in the lower leagues. I don't think it'll be too long before they're relegated from the prem.

We're a much better club in my opinion.

Let's hope it gets past the FA, interesting that Boro got some major sponsorship through Lee according to this old article.

"Sportsmail understands the 59-year-old has no intention of selling the club he helped save from liquidation in 1986 and has owned since 1993 and will resist any approach from foreign investors.

He did, however, sanction a due diligence check on Lee and his associates — and it confirmed significant financial muscle."

Bit of a come down from when this news story broke.

Still think around £2 million for a league 1 player is good business, could make two great signings with the money.
