Yes, you are partly correct we drew against Barnsley, Charlton, Sunderland twice and four of the other teams so more like 22 wins 4 draws and 0 defeats - I did say something like rather than exactly. But yeah be very nice to win the league but Iike you just going up would be fine as we thought after promotion last season this was a consolidation season. Bit worrying going up, our ground is decrepit!
What? Your ground is state of the art. I heard Mrs Smith had landed new clematis in her back garden which improves the overall match day experience
I'm getting old so my eyes aren't what they used to be. I've no idea how you even see the screen to be honest
It's a big step up mate, and you'll be turning away custom with that little away end, because some clubs will want to bring a big following. As much as people take the piss out of our old West Stand, the other 3 parts of the stadium are ok and we can accommodate a good number of away supporters. Aren't you moving soon?
Maybe, still trying to get full planning permission and it is £600 million project including clearing seriously contaminated land which in my experience is a fraught process and can take bloody years. The club reckon 2022 - I personally would be amazed
I remember coming to Oakwell for the first time in the 80's for a Tuesday night game about this time of year. Our coach broke down on route and we got there just before half time, in time to see us miss a penalty. It was bloody freezing and raining and you won 4-3. Can't remember much else, frozen out of my memory
Can't recall the game at all, but looked it up and it was 82. One of our best ever players was ex Luton - Paul Futcher. Not the fastest centre half, but read the game very well and that made up the shortfall. Hows luke Berry doing for you? I liked him, but we signed him and a few others for the same position and it didn't work out for him.
82, God I'm old, it was heavy sleet, on the open terrace, seemed pitch black and don't remember loads being there. One of those night where you utterly question your sanity and try to ignore the answer. Yeah, both the Futcher's were great but Paul was clearly the class act - very very good. As for Luke Berry, he is bloody excellent, had injuries and we doubted we would get more than 60 minutes from him in maybe 20 games but he has exceeded our expectations - as has everyone this season to be fair
You've taken a fair few lads who didn't get much of a chance with us and showed us that their is a player in each and every one of them. Hats off to you.
Anybody given it any thought that getting rid of him as done wonders for the moral in the dressing room.. None of us (bar one on here Allegedly and I don't mean Darfield lol) are privy to what goes off behind the scenes... so maybe.. Just maybe, it might turn out to be a master stroke on the clubs part selling him to our rivals.. Its early days yet.....New broom syndrome.. Only time will tell
Yup. Pearson being one. Whole hearted player but blooded in the championship at left back. Accrington fans said he could play all across the back 4. Maybe so in league 2 where he came from, but not in the championship.
