I think if we've learned nothing else over recent months that there is no need to think the worst with these owners and this team until it actually happens. If Keiffer is out for a few weeks as good as he is this squad with these players are more than good enough to cope and continue the good form until his return.

Bahre playing off Woodrow for me. I don’t think Victor is much use as a starter & if he does start then there’s no striking options off the bench which I’m not a fan of

I understand what you’re saying but I wasn’t throwing in the towel. If i was more honest, I should have admitted in the post that i’m still pi$$y that we didn’t add to the strike force during the window. Said so at the time. It just seems a backward step not to add to the front line when the strength in depth is weak and we are a hairs breath from automatic promotion.

I know others thought we had a good window - I didn’t. What the Club effectively did was gamble that we wouldn’t lose either Moore or Woodrow to injury before the seasons end. And here we are just 9 days after the window with Moore in the situation he is.

I think we've got options to keep 2 up front. Between Adeboyejo, Bahre, Brown and Woodrow, there's plenty of combinations. My own preference would be to keep Brown out wide and play Bahre with Woodrow, but whatever we end up with, it's a confident side, playing well and I think we'll be fine.

Yep. It's not like we rely on long balls to Moore. He's more than just a target man and goals come from all over.

Couldn't agree more. The way we've been knocking the ball about for most of the last 11 games, I reckon we can cope. Not that we won't miss Moore, it's just that I think the squad is better than we perhaps we give it credit.

Probably Victor in until Moore is back. Another option could be pushing Brown up front and having Green on the wing, trouble with that is that Brown has been superb in the last few games in that role so why change things that are going well..

Think we will struggle a bit against the lesser sides. Against the good ones 4-4-1-1 will work fine. a mixture of Brown and Bähre for me depending on opposition. Shows the daft ness of our decision not to bring in appropriate cover in January bait you can’t undo what is done.

Did you mention that during the window? If so where?

    WTF?

Do I have to write every thought I have on the BBS, just in case someone asks me to show the documentation of it.

Unfortunately I have a life and as I only post about 3 times a week, quite a lot of my thoughts don’t end up on here. I’m actually thinking something about your post right now but I’ve got to head off and take my daughter to school.

We have been a striker short all season. We started with just 2 Moore and Bradshaw. Bradsahw left and Woodrow came in (eventually) still only 2. Considering when we have had 2 fit strikers our formation has been 2 up front not bringing another in is very odd. Brown has played a couple of games up top but majority of his games have been out wide. He's playing very well there now so moving him is undesirable. That leaves a young Victor who the manager must not really fancy as we have elected to play 1 up front rather than start him in previous games.
Anyone who has been watching us all season must surely have reached the same conclusion that we only have 2 first team strikers.

Easy Terry, I apologise. It wasn't meant to be such a terse response.

    Hey mate, apology accepted.

I did write a fair bit about not padding out the squad in the window though, even if it was for back ups and to strengthen the bench.

Nothing to moan about here. I’m chuffed how we are playing and how it’s going. Just don’t want injuries to derail us.

Agreed, I think there's enough class in this squad to cover for Moore - in the short term. He definitely made a difference when he came on at Oxford however.
How did DS shape the team when Moore was out last time?

I trust Herr Stendel on this. He hasn't got much wrong and when he has he's held his hands up and generally fixed it promptly.

As fans, it's nice to know we have options. I've always thought we are light on forwards as out-and-out starters but I'm not sure the loss of Big Keef is necessarily the death knell for our season. The way I see it:

Brown up top / Greeny on the wing. Benefits - Brown oozing confidence, Green desperate to impress.
Victor to slot into Kieffer's role. Benefit - Victor could do with a run and if he takes his chance like Browny has, we'll be good.
Bahre in a kind of Messi / Salah hybrid role. Free rein. Benefit - if he plays like he did in that festive fixture he could unlock a few defences. He was unplayable that day.

I'd only make the one change where it is needed. Either Bahre or Adeboyejo in for Moore. I'd favour Bahre because he offers more.

We are talking abart replacing a goal scorer here, so it has to be Victor for me. Bahre is alreet coming on at the death chasing darn when we already have game won, his shooting leaves a lot to be desired anall.
