that Automatic promotion is no more. I’m not being knee- jerk honest and I’m not posting in anger or frustration. I think I’ve given it a good part of the season to pass to base this opinion on. Portsmouth are absolutely flying and the anticipated slip- up doesn’t look like materialising. Without crucial additions including full backs and wingers, the playoffs could well fade away as well. We are being sussed out too easy now and I think players’confidence is taking a real hit. On our day we are are a formidable opposition and take some stopping, but we now seem unable/ incapable of having our day more and more now. Obviously hope I’m way off the mark, but sadly I don’t think I am. January was always going to be massive for us, now I even more so. COYR
I wouldn't write us off either for automatic or the play-offs. We're in a much better position than the 2015/16 season and we know how that panned out. Some decent recruitment in the window, rediscover our self-belief and we could still be strong contenders.
Wouldn't rule out the play offs think that is where we will end up. We can keep talking about 15/16 fact is it was such a achievement because runs of form like that are very rare. Chasing down the top 2 places is very difficult compared to the play offs.
I really do think the Automatic places have gone, We are unable to produce the consistency of results required. As I’ve said January is crucial, but this current team are at a low ebb confidence wise and are often painfully too naive, Experience and pace required.
I think you are right. Even if the owners were able to chuck brass about in January, we'll be too far behind for it to make the difference. We need to ensure we're in the playoffs. Then you're a 3/1 shot.
That's there's a lot of football left to be played this season and that it's way too early to make any definitive conclusions about this season. Sure you can say that if we carry on like this, we won't get promoted. But you can't say the race is already over. That's just nonsense.
There's too many slip ups to be credible contenders for the automatic spots. I think the play-offs will remain in our reach all season though.
Maybe top spot but second is s deffo on for any club that makes a consistent run imo. Our midfield needs an arse kicker in place in January imo . Heads are going down far too easily and effort stops soon as . While ever second spot is contentious and we sort it out beginning of Jan and not have to wait for prem teams to decide to loan at their convenience we have a chance very slim one but a chance non the less . I’m not at all confident this will happen mind .
I'm not convinced that both Sunderland and Pompey will go all season without a blip so if we can get back to our early season form and bring a few players in as well as getting Kenny fit again then the top two remains achievable in my opinion.
I just had to bump this back up. Thought it was fitting with this relating to Wycombe away game.Just goes goes to show eh: Disclaimer: This has been bumped back up for the content I alone have posted, particularly the o/ p.
they have taken 12 points from a possible 30 over the last 10 games. Sunderland have taken 16 points from the last ten games. We have taken 26 points from our last 10 games. See your doctor mate.
He posted that 3 months ago when they were flying. If he's going to the docs you can go to specsavers
Wycombe away- the low point of our season. We've come on leaps and bounds since, learnt from our mistakes (players and coaches) which is what good teams do. Automatic is definitely in our own hands
