If twitter is to be believed then the new CEO is Dane Murphy, 30 year old American. Was technical director at DC United, but was only there a few weeks
Put the Scunny club You Tube video to 12:50 and is he the guy sat behind Conway? Our directors box had a few I didn't recognise and from Googling him it looks like it could be the same guy.
A google search says he only joined DC United in December? Interestingly his Linked in profile says he speaks 2 languages English and German. Background is more of a scout though, wouldn’t a CEO want more of a rounded CV?
His current job is that of Technical Director! Here are a couple of definitions of that Role. Perhaps him and Robert Zuk are going to share the job of CEO. "The role tends to include, and this is by no means a comprehensive list: responsibility for and the overseeing of the academy, the training ground, the infrastructure, medical, physiotherapy, conditioning, fitness, nutrition, hydration, rest, well being, and culture and behavioural standards within the club. The technical director can also have a remit for coaching programmes and philosophy (coaching the coaches). It is a role typically found within a nation's football association as well as big and also ambitious smaller clubs. It tends to be a role designed to facilitate long-term strategy and continuity independent of a manager's remit with the team. What that job title means varies by club, but there are a few things usually held in common. A technical director scouts and works with MLS to sign talent, manage the salary cap, negotiate new contracts with players or their agents, and oversee the academies. The new position streamlined the director of soccer position while eliminating many of the administrative duties that position used to include, such as managing flights and hotels. "
Maybe he looked us up on google and got a Wendy fans guide to a dingle supporter and thought he’d blend in lol
Probably announced Monday or early next week at least . Maybe on Tuesday to coincide with the Burton Game and all the fund raising and goodwill etc.
Paul Conway and James Cryne walked through concourse in Ponty End yesterday before kick off, they had another couple with them
When he sees Mowatt he will think he is still back home https://www.dcunited.com/players/paul-arriola
If you look at his LinkedIn, he's also worked for OPTA. It looks like he's got the necessary attributes. https://www.linkedin.com/in/dane-murphy-0a60713b/
Got nothing to suggest he has experience as a CEO, if he comes I think (hope)he will be in charge of playing side in its entirety and Zuk (or other) takes care of rest like day to day running of business side.
